Sunshine, Blue Skies and Yoga. 7DayPositivityChallenge Day 3

This morning, we practiced Yoga in the garden as it was beautiful outside, and the sky was such a perfect shade of blue, with a gentle breeze blowing through.

The ground was soft and cool from the grass. The trees gave us enough shade all around with a great big opening in the centre to view the sky above us.

After a nice sequence of sun salutation, twists, bends, stretches and flow, it was time to rest and rejuvenate in Shavasana, a deep relaxation pose.

Finally relaxing into Shavasana after all that stretching and pulling, we were accompanied by the chirping of birds , sounds of flowing water from the fountain and ponds in the garden, and a nice cooling breeze against a sweat moistened skin, the very space surrounding us imbued with love and joy - It was really an other worldly experience.

Although I didn't get to enjoy the full experience of lying down with the rest of the class, just sitting on the grass and facilitating the process was deeply relaxing and fulfilling - a real Zen experience.

Over the last couple of years, I've gotten into the habit of doing a short visualisation exercise just before the end of the session. And it's always been a fun creative process.

With an open mind, I usually observe the images that swim to the surface. From there, a sort of narrative starts forming. It's always been a fun journey to narrate these "visions", and as it turns out, it's usually quite a hit with the students as well.

Today, an interesting narrative came up. One that started with visualising a beautiful flower. I wasn't sure where this was going until the concept of juxtaposing the flower with a person came up.

From first observing a flower without judgement of what it looks or smells like we learn to be detached in observing. Then it extended to replacing the face of a person in place of the flower. We then learn to observe this person in our mind with the same non judgemental quality of observing a flower. It was a beautiful narrative to share, as it was to "see" it.

I have to say, this particular part of class facilitation is such a privilege and joy personally. I don't know how it started or how it works, it just does....and the visions are just full of colour and unbridled imaginings of pure love, courage and compassion.

Am deeply grateful for the opportunity to share this with others and feel the joy it impacts upon All.

The Rules:

The 'rules' are fairly simple, for this Steemit challenge, which I do hope transcends into our everyday life - in finding more positivity in the world.

  1. Write a post about something you have to be positive about today - this could be anything from being thankful for your current situation, someone being nice to you, being thankful for your friends and family, or even being thankful for the opportunity you have been given here on Steemit - just keep it positive :)
  2. Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated.
From @kchitrah: Or do your best with 7 such posts spaced close together - I know that's what I'll be doing
  3. Mention three people who should do this on each day.
  4. Tag it with #7daypositivitychallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post
(Tip: You need to put the # in front of 7daypositivitychallenge or it will not let you use the tag.)
  5. Include a picture of something positive (related to your story if possible).

Today, I'm tagging @andysantics48 @reconstitution @poetrybyjeremy

Though the choice always remains in the hands of those nominated to take this up, I hope that this might be an inspiration to find more beauty, love and opportunity to express gratitude everyday. As it is a nice way to move through a week, or more (should we take a couple days in between the posts).
