Hi everyone!
And that's Isfahan at night... not very related, but it's in Iran, so it's related. :)
So what is this about? Some challenge which i was tagged by my friend @mrprofessor to do and it's about being grateful about something every day for a week. Not a fan of challenges like this, but the idea in general was OK and i couldn't reject @mrprofessor because of not being a fan. (maybe i could, i don't know)
I was thinking "what to be grateful about today?" and i thought it's good to start with a little bi of fun. In west media's perspective (as far as i know), Iran is one of he worst countries to live in. Many things are normal here, but there is an advantage: we don't have to obey international copyright rules. Why is that considered an advantage? Because i have all the adobe cc programs, Cinema 4D, 3Ds max, Windows 7, for free, without worrying about being caught or something. You might think "Such an idiot you are" , but when you find out that adobe.com is banned for Iranian, (and bunch of other more important reasons which don't fit here), you won't care about they're rules anymore. In fact in Iran there's no way to use adobe products other than installing cracked programs. So while because of a not so good economy, gears are expensive, the zero cost of programs will compensate it.
I know if i lived in any other country, i could have been grateful about something related to that country, but that's the thing, there's always something to be grateful of, no matter the location or he time.
I have so many things about being positive in life, how to be, is it good and so on, but let's discuss them later.

Not a fan of rules either, i guess it's more of a guideline than rules.
I invite anybody who is reading this and is interested in the topic to do the challenge, an invitation you can just ignore...

I was tagged by @mrprofessor to:
Write a post about something you have to be positive about today - this could be anything from being thankful for your current situation, someone being nice to you, being thankful for your friends and family, or even being thankful for the opportunity you have been given here on Steemit - just keep it positive :)

Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated.

Mention three people who should do this on each day.

Tag it with #7daypositivitychallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post Include a picture of something positive (related to your story if possible.)

Tip: You need to put the # in front of 7daypositivitychallenge or it will not let you use the tag.

ahahaahah I love it @sina-adventure! You could of course reject the invitation, but it's a fun and helpful challenge. I love your own way of participating.

Gotta tell that the brazilians don't follow the rules too, the so called 'brazilian way'. We'll always find a way to do it without to much work hahahahaha

Willing to see your own perspective of Iran as the media kinda talk trash about your place and I know they exagerate.

I thought it's better to it my way rather than ignoring it. I like the hole idea, being positive and grateful but i had much more to say about it, made my mind messy to start this challenge.

It's a start! hahaha keep it up my friend.

Your post is great and I think it is valuable for the photo community on Steemit!

This looks very great. How did you manage to get this shot(like tripod or long exposure)? Can you tell me how not to overexpose the light while taking a long exposure shots during night time?

Unfortunately it's one of my old shots and i can't remember what i used for taking this shot. Timing is important. Sky gradually darkens after sunset, I don't know the exact time, but about an hour after sunset, it's good time for this kind of shot, so the overall exposure of the sky and the city (including the lights) matches each other. You can also use exposure bracketing, so you end up with say 2 images, one exposed to show the details of sky, one for city and the lights, then using a software like photoshop, merging the two and resulting in a photo that has both sky and city with appropriate exposure.

Finally... i found the original photos, That photo (photo in the post) is a HDR consist of three photos with different exposure time (1/40s, 1/13s and 1/3s) it was taken about an hour before sunrise.
And this is the one with 1/13s exposure time and edited with Adobe camera raw, just now.

As you can see, because the sky was not too dark or too bright, taking only one shot with proper exposure was enough, but back then i was not as experienced as now.
As far as i can remember, i didn't use tripod.
