The features of our face can help us as much as they can hinder us, and it's not just about attractiveness. The people around you tend to subconsciously assess the appearance of another, based on such criteria, which you did not know.
We need only a few seconds after meeting with a person, so that we somehow immediately decide for themselves whether to fear him, how smart he is.
This may seem incredible, but in many cases the first impression is absolutely accurate. In some others, we are very wrong.
Assume that you have a twin brother or sister, but not identical. You have the same upbringing, intelligence ratio, the same hobby and education. You are both interesting, sociable and adventurous. You like the same food, and you do sports in the same club.
The impact on the exterior
From the point of view of intellect and spirituality you are real counterparts. There is only one difference between you: your faces. For example, one of you has a brutal forehead and sharp cheekbones, and the second has wide-open eyes and half-child facial features.
How goes your life? Will your paths coincide? Or all same differences in looks will make you go on different roads? Of course, different. Just by looking at you, others immediately draw certain conclusions about the presence of certain abilities in you, they will understand whether you can be trusted, and also see you are a performer or a leader.

There is a phenomenon that psychologists have called the "halo effect", thanks to which we tend to believe that cute people have other positive characteristics, in addition to their beautiful appearance. For example, we can think that they are smart or have high performance.
Psychologist of the University of Texas Daniel Hamermesh came to the conclusion that beautiful people earn even more.
In one study, a group of students were asked to evaluate an essay written by an unfamiliar girl. As a result, the participants of the experiment were more favorable in assessing the work when they were shown a picture of a beautiful girl, posing as the author. When they showed a photo of an unattractive girl, or did not show anything, they spoke about the essay less flattering.
Your photo will tell people a lot about you
In 2009, a study was conducted among students at the University of Texas at Austin. They were shown pictures of 123 people. In some photos, people had different facial expressions, and in some they were asked to be impartial without expressing anything.
As a result, regardless of the facial expression of the person in the photo, the participants of the experiment to a greater extent correctly determined the degree of openness, religiosity, integrity, self-confidence and complaisance.

In 2013, a study showed that men with large cheekbones and broad facial features are carriers of higher testosterone levels. Also, these men are more ambitious and aggressive.

The participant of the experiment conducted in 2015 showed images of 10 different people, each of which was captured with 5 different facial expressions. Then they were asked to talk about these people: how friendly, strong and trustworthy they are.
Not surprising was the fact that people with happy facial expressions was related to those who are trustworthy and who are friendly, unlike the people from evil persons. Moreover, people with broad faces were perceived as stronger.
You can write in criminals only one of your appearance, which will not inspire confidence
British and Israeli scientists conducted a study in which participants were asked to study photos of women and men who were randomly selected from two databases. Volunteers were asked to assess the character traits, emotional state of people, as well as their propensity to offenses.
The photos were taken from the police database, as well as from the database of actors who were asked to look angry, happy or impartial when shooting.
Participants of experiment didn't know who is who in photos, but carried to criminals of those people who looked angry and imperious.
Eyes can tell you if you have any health problems

For example, a group of French scientists recently conducted an experiment, during which volunteers played an economic game. Everyone was given a few euros, and everyone had to decide for themselves whether to invest in other players or not.
At the same time, those in whom they invest could either share the profit (this is an honest option), or take all the money (this is an unfair option). While seeing only the photo, the volunteers could predict which of the options will choose a partner, and, as it turned out, with the help of photos actually guessed more often than if they accidentally made a choice.
Scientists say that the results of this experiment make us think about interesting issues of human evolution. While it is hard to understand the reason why I decided to put a sign on people's face - "I can not be trusted." In addition, our face is still reflected by the state of the immune system and the level of hormones.
Characteristic of appearance
However, from a practical point of view, human accuracy in this assessment of the other's traits leaves much to be desired, and brings even more harm than good. We often pay too much attention to the external aspect, completely forgetting about the information that we already have.
For example, in a game where trust and honesty are important, players are more likely to believe a person with innocent facial features, even knowing that this partner was previously convicted of cheating.
So, returning to our twins, you can easily understand how exactly the difference in the initial perception of appearance can lead you and your twin on completely different life paths.
Do not forget that the appearance is able to determine your fate in a variety of situations: during employment, when you meet the parents of your chosen one, when you want to get a Bank loan and even when you just come to the party.
