Buzludzha
The monument to Buzludzha, with the official name "Monument House of the Party", was erected in 1981 on Mount Hadji Dimitar, Stara Planina. The monument is still the largest ideological monument in Bulgaria. He was a shrine for the Bulgarian Communist Party. As a result of the political changes in Bulgaria after 1989, the monument began to crumble. Glass was broken, mosaics were scratched, mosaic portraits of Todor Zhivkov and his daughter Lyudmila were destroyed. However, the monument takes the honorable 25th place in the international ranking "The most beautiful abandoned places in the world".
