Evening walk
Sunset or sunrise is easy catch. You don't have to try too much, it's there and it’s free, within reach. You get a lot of help with the colors, the honey-like light, the opening, the contrast and the reflections. The embrace of that light is what I like most. Not looking at it, but what it does to the building and walls, the orange or purple shadow. Looking at the sunset, but backwards.
Somehow, in that evening of a workday, it was just me taking photos. Probably I was the only one stranger in that non-touristic area. For me it was "wow!” as I went to the sea and received more than expected. I was a tourist envying the ones living there. I thought is great to look to the window or get out of the building to take a walk and see this:
I was talking to a friend in one of my previous posts from Izmir about calmness of Turkish people as I 've see it (gladly that it comes through my photos) . I thought, as I was roaming alone on the shore that evening, that it's the calmness of the fisherman. Because there were more fishermen than wanderers like me. Alone or in groups, quiet or keeping their voice down, catching something or not. I stayed there until I could see only their silhouettes.
Being alone for a few days in an unknown town can be so good. The evenings are just for you, you are free to do whatever you want and yet enjoying the voluptuousness of not having to do something in particular. I’ve never understood those who are being bored when they are or travel alone. I’ve been enjoying the workdays and free evenings with visiting, discovering and taking the pulse of the town, as they say.
