Australia Women's Cricket Team has done it for the Sixth Time
Well, the Australian women's team has done it again. It's their 6th time lifting the title in 8 editions. And second hattrick (2010,2012,2014 and 2018, 2020, 2023). Can you believe this? This is sheer dominance and this gotta be the best Cricket team that I am aware of. Meg Lanning, the captain now holds the record of winning the maximum number of ICC trophies (5). They showed pure quality in batting and bowling, power-hitting, depth, fielding, and everything. They deserve it.
We gotta feel sad for the South African team. They were so close to kissing their first-ever ICC world cup history. But they were awesome and came back strongly after the first match defeat. Their nail-biting win over England makes me believe that they can do it this time. Because they deserve it. Anyway, I didn't hail any team this year for friend, @patjewell, and Perry. 😅😅
When talking about the final, batting first AUSW scored 156/6 after their 20 overs. It was a lovely start from the openers but from one end, wickets get falling. Beth Mooney’s 74* off 53 helped Aussie pass the par score.
South Africa couldn't start things off well. Eventhough there were nice shots around the ground, their run rate was slow. After 10 overs, they were 54-3. They couldn't recover that in the final half. And a few run-out scattered their hope. Laura Wolvaardt tried from one end with 61 runs. After the 20 overs, they ended up at 137/6, 19 runs short of the target.
So, in that way, things were wrapped up in another edition. England and India reached the semis. The player of the match was Beth Mooney and the player of the series was Ashleigh Gardner.
It's a colorful festival by the Rainbow Nation, mixing their culture and nice people. Well done!

Although it was not a win for South Africa I am still super proud of the ladies T20 team.
They did us proud!

Yeah, sure! You can be super proud of the girls. Second place is not bad at all. To be honest, I wasn't a plan of womens's cricket much. But this tournament was pretty good...
