Remembering Shane Warne | It's almost a year after his death
The legendary Australian cricketer, the greatest leg spinner of all time feared the batsmen for decades, died of a heart attack on the 04th of March 2022, at the age of 52. Can't believe a year has passed after that terrible news. As a Sri Lankan, I can remember the friendly banter between him and Murali for the title of the highest wicket-taker in Test Cricket. Eventhough, Murali won that battle, Warne is no less of a legendary baller.
So, Rest in peace, Champ!!
He is a true artist of spin. He revolutionized the leg spin and he has a number of nicknames for his talent.

In 1993 at Old Trafford, his delivery to dismiss former England captain Mike Gatting is known as the Ball of the century. The ball landed way outside the leg stump, spun, passed the batsman, and hit the off stump. The batsman had no answer to that ball. A treat to watch.

708 Test wickets in 145 matches, only behind Murali, at an average of 25.41.
293 ODI wickets in 194 matches, at an average of 25.73.
37 - 5 wickets in innings and 10 - 10 wickets in matches in Tests.
One of five Wisden Cricketers of the Century.
Inducted into the Cricket Hall of Fame in 2012.
In 2005, BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year.
A honorary life member of MCC.
There is a statue of Warne at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Shane Warne Stand at Hampshire.
He is included in almost any all-time test team.
And he is a match-winner. He was playing in the Australian dominant era in Cricket. He is an important member of the Aussies' ODI-winning teams in 1999, 2003, and 2007. So, as an unconditional Cricket lover, it's hard to forget this man, on this day. Cricket will never have someone like him ever again!
