Weekly CRICKET Review - XXI | Bangla Tigers whitewashed the World Champions
How's everything going friends? You already know that I am sharing a weekly wrap-up of the things that are going on within the Cricket community. It's a very busy schedule these days with everything happening.
So, let's dig more. You can read my previous week's review here, TFinally Test Cricket for Sri Lanka
England tour of Bangladesh
Well, the highlight of the last week is Bangladesh whitewashing the World Champions, England in the 3 T20I Series. It repeatedly shows that the BAN team is strong, especially in home conditions. The Eng team, even with their full power had no control over the series. Najmul Hossain Shanto won the Man of the Series award.
England batted first in the 1st match. The openers Butler (67 runs), and Salt took a terrific start of 80 in the first half with a lot of batting to come. But Ban could restrict them to 156 runs, with an excellent death-balling effort. Ban batting looks prominent, but Shanto played an amazing knock of 50 off 27 balls with Towhid Hridoy, and then Shakib and Afif did the rest with 6 wickets in hand.
- Once again England started the batting, in the second T20I. But the Ban ballers were so good and they restricted them to 117 runs. Mehidi Hasan took 4 wickets. The chase was not easy as imagined. Eng took early wickets and put the pressure. Once again Shanto played an anchor role and with the help of Hridoy, and Hasan, they chased it within 19 overs.
- Ban scored 158 runs batting first in the third match, with 73 runs from Litton Das. In the chase, England was totally under control with 100/1 in 13 overs, Malan and Butler in the crease. But this pair got out in consecutive balls and Eng couldn't recover from there. They ended up in 142/6 experiencing a whitewash for the first time against Bangladesh.
South Africa vs West Indies Test series
- After winning the first match, two teams were facing at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. Batting first SA scored 320 runs for the first inning with 96 runs from Markram. WI could only score 251 runs in the chase. SA second inning(321/10) was interesting with the terrific 172 from Bavuma, his career best. Chasing a target of 391 runs, WI scattered for 106 runs.
India vs Australia Test Series
The two teams met for the last Test as 2-1 a favor for India at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Australi took the batting and ended up with a huge total of 480 runs. Khawaja scored 180 runs and Green with his maiden hundred. But Indians were not shy at all. They put in a total of 571 runs. Virat and Gill made tons. So, it's 4 days over and Aussie just played the last day with 175/2 and the match was drawn.
Jadeja won the MoS trophy and India lifted the BGT for the consecutive fourth time.
