Still 22🤗 | 5% to SL Charity

Two hours remaining to my 23rd Birthday. One thought is haunting my mind all day; how did I become this older? I am still feeling like that nineteen-year-old girl who left school. However, almost 4 years have passed.

I told you that I was ill in the last weeks. When I went to see the doctor and he asked my age, I told 22 years, thanking for still being at that age. I went two times to see two doctors; once with my mum and with @sandun98 in the other time. I gave the same answer to the doctor and both of them looked at me with a look saying that you are only a few days away from your 23rd.

When I was small, I was thinking that those who are in the age of 25 are very big and independent. They have houses, cars, new families of their own. That they have separate lives from their parents. They are really big. And the ones who are above 30 are really old. Thinking about how I felt makes me smile now. It is correct that some are in accordance with that. But most are far away. One of my roomies is 24 and half now and she is not mature and independent even like me. And there is my sister who is at the age of 27 and still fighting with us for the biggest piece of the pineapple that father cut just now.

When my bd is near, I usually ask my loved ones how old I am. They know me. How silly I am. And even that dialogue makes me happy. This time it was his turn to listen to all the silly things I tell him when my birthday is near.

We like it or not, we are ready for it or not, the time flies. And the best thing is that everyone is having their own timing which is unique. It cannot be compared with others and must not be compared with others.

However, I will no longer be 22 after two hours. Though I am not ready to be that big. Birthdays don't make sense in the way we felt when we were small because now we are too grown up than we want so we don't like to be any bigger. But still, I am really looking forward to it.
