My 100% Upvotes For Yesterday – Are You One Of Them?
If you have the percentage slider for Upvoting, do you spread your votes out, Upvoting maybe 100 posts at 10%, or do you you pick 10 posts you like and Upvote them 100%? Or are you like me, and normally push that slider every which way for every post you Upvote? Why do you Upvote the way you do?

On Thursday, I decided it would be fun to give 10 Steemians a 100% Upvote instead of spreading my vote out thinly, and to write a post including links to their work. Notice that I am not including any artwork or photography, because I want you to go to their posts to make comments on their work! Please do check them out!
So, I Upvoted 6 posts, but ran out of power because I had made a bunch of other votes beforehand! Yesterday, I did Upvote 10, so I am including all 16 links in this post. There were many more worthy posts to Upvote, so don't despair! I may get your post the next time I do this. I'm not promising to do this on a weekly basis, but will aim for that!

Great topic! I'm kinda all over the place. I do love giving out 100% votes. Then I'll also do round type percents like 25/50/75. But then I'll also do 20/30/70. It depends on if I'm doing multiple photos in a row and how many I've already upvoted. Generally though, I like to spread the wealth and reward as many people as I can. These are great problems/dilemmas to have!
They sure are. I so enjoyed doing the 100% votes, but felt bad for the great posts I didn't Upvote. I think I will make this a weekly thing!

I just upvote the sum that is accepted every time I like something.

I believe you start to see it when you reach 500 Steem Power. Someone can correct me on that, if the figure is wrong. At the moment your votes will be at 100% because they are probably worth a couple of cents, but if you engage well with the community and write quality posts you will be at 500 in no time! When you see the slider you can choose to vote at any percentage of your voting power as you want. You can vote many times a day at a low strength, or fewer times at a higher strength! I wish you all the best!
I think it is cool that you shared these votes and why. I will admit I do a lot of little votes and the occasional 100%. I like to support a ton of people regularly that I help lead at least to a point and then I support further than that as much as I can.
I do normally too! I just thought it would be cool to do this once a week, and give 100% to the best deserving 10 that I read first! I like to share a few cents here and there, but I get excited when I see someone's awards jump by .70 or so!
100% because I only have 54 SP and my votes are only worth 2c :)
But when I do finally reach 500, I will probably just wing it, change it around based on how I feel in the moment.
Yes, it's tough at the beginning, but you'll be surprised how quickly things pick up when you post original work and engage with this great community! thanks for stopping by and commenting!

I hope so. It bothers me some that often the author/photographer is praised on another post and it gains at the expense the original author. In my wiwcontest, I don't put any of the winners' images as the first in my post, but I also emphasize that 100SBD from the post is going to the next week's winners and NOT TO ME! I try to practice what I preach. LOL! Too many are making good bucks from the work of others, and I don't need to join them. :-)
YEs we are in sun here on this I will not profit from someone else’s work, but many others have different, hmm standards to live by I guess

As far as my voting habits, if a Steemian is really putting forth an effort on an important but unpopular message like um copyright infringement, that'll generally get 100%.
New users who are really trying but lacking visibility and producing good content usually get higher upvotes.
Awesome whales & established dolphins usually get lower upvotes just because i believe in the spread the wealth theory.
I'm usually pretty generous with my upvotes. But I never upvote without commenting.

Well, your answer seems to have vanished into thin air! That happens to me quite a bit. I'll go back to check on something and will see the draft still sitting there! :-) LOL!
I use 10% as my standard. I went months with my vote power below 60% because I just like to upvote everything I like. Even when my vote was only worth a penny, I knew it still helped people make trending, and every little bit helps! I still tend to vote "downstream" mostly, so hopefully the people appreciate the watered down vote still. I was doing 100% on my actual family and real world friends, but backed that off after they joined the alliance. I am probably going to go back to giving my husband 100% though, he just does not have time to run around and comment and his upvote is tiny, he is just not getting anywhere without my vote.
I think it was different when our votes were worth a penny, because it was always at 100%. 10% is probably my average on a normal day too. Some days, I don't even have much time to be reading and Upvoting, because I'm maxed out with other responsibilities. Those are ideal days to use the 100% while I have the voting power for the day! I'm looking at it kind of like the buying of lunch for the person next in line at McDonald's. It would be nice too to buy everyone a coffee, but the one lunch surprise makes that person's day! :-)
I have been trying to do real analysis of my time here, figure out what is working and what is not. I have 14 real world friends on here, and had been trying to use a lot of my VP to nurture them along but most of them have bailed. I am giving them another week or two, then pulling my delegated VP back from their account if they don't get active. I probably won't do another steeminvite for anyone, it ties up my VP with people who aren't using it.
I have been a "fight for the underdog" person since at least 1st grade when I lead a cafeteria protest against an increase in the price of milk. How could poor kids afford to pay nearly twice the price?!
3 cents to 5 cents. My school was upper middle class, there were no terribly poor kids in my school. And the school had a fund for the sort of poor ones that I did not know about... So I pour a LOT of vote power "downstream" to try to bring up promising minnows, that pays off SOME. Again, a LOT of the newbies don't last... And the simple truth is that what pays the MOST is talking to people who are more or less "in my league." Nice to have the occasional dolphin roll by and hit the upvote, but it is the "less than a dollar" crowd who actually seem to upvote my stuff consistently. I suspect if I turn more of my VP "upstream" I would get a better ROI... thinking about doing a rotation... Do new section downstream 5 to 20% one day, upstream 50 to 100% one day, then do recent posts by family and friends one day, engaged followers one day, engaged followees one day, then repeat the cycle. Thinking about it.
I'm all over the place, but I do like to reward genuinely good material, not matter what the voting power.
Yeah... by the time I figured out what VP was it was run down to nothing. Took me several weeks to develop enough discipline to try to keep it worth a reasonable amount, I stayed under 60% for weeks. I have too much time, I find a lot of stuff I like lol!
