   About its original author and his painting:

   José Viola Gamón "Manuel Viola" (Zaragoza, Spain 1916 - El Escorial, Madrid, Spain 1987).

   Viola's painting has a great gestural force and an unmistakable luminosity. Within his figurative work stand out the cockfights, which are a series of paintings that go from the 1970s to the death of the painter.

   They are simple versions of their previous abstractions, where the intense gestures serve to illustrate the reason for the cockfight.

   José Viola Gamón "Manuel Viola" (Zaragoza, España 1916 - El Escorial, Madrid, España 1987).

   La pintura de Viola posee una gran fuerza gestual y una inconfundible luminosidad. Dentro de su obra figurativa destacan las peleas de gallos, que son una serie de pinturas que van desde la década de 1970 hasta la muerte del pintor.

   Son versiones sencillas de sus abstracciones anteriores, donde la intensa gestualidad sirve para ilustrar el motivo de la pelea de gallos.
