It wasn't until I went to link this post and it said the user was invalid. Well, yes... He probably is, but, it was then that I realized I used the wrong name.. Ooops!
Making something out of nothing can be an emotion, artistic, religious, scientific, mathematical or a station in your life...it can be something awesome or show the trivial in human nature. Be all you can be.
This is a frieze over the West Doorway of the Washington National Cathedral named Ex Nihilo, which translates as “out of nothing,” this carving dramatically shows life emerging from the void. Partially formed figures of men and women seem to be emerging from the swirling background. — Words written on the wall at Washington National Cathedral.

Sepia has such and amazing quality. Not sure if it's because it's "old school" and something I grew up with, more or less, or just what it brings out of a photo. I know I LOVE to take forest photos with it. Can't tell WHAT year it's from. (And a series I'm developing with Wilson² in the same vein, but more on that lateron). Your bridge is that way, when was that taken? Thanks for some more gorgeous works.
I have only recently come to love sepia. Not because I didn't care for it, but, hadn't really dabbled with it. After having done a few shots, I agree with you on the quality and it DOES feel old school! In a very good way.
I like that you cannot date it, but I find it hard to find shots to turn into sepia or black and white, for that matter. Perhaps most of mine don't have enough contrast developing a good look for it?

Interesting and unexpected frieze on a cathedral. Good choice sepia or could not be otherwise.
It cannot be Saturday without #Caturday! That tag has been around every social platform that I have ever been on! Good morning, Dan @bluemoon (afternoon to you) You can see by how late I posted that it was almost a non-posting day, as I have not sorted through the new hard drive for pictures! I happened to have the frieze loaded on my phone and one from the bridge... I really need to spend some time organizing the mess I made.
There are so many tags now, aren't there? I'm a guilty party throwing my own in the mix too.
The frieze is very interesting to me, a piece of art above the doorway. I always find the minds of artist interesting and unexpected. They have a whole different way of seeing things. I like going to this cathedral. It had over 700 creches from all over the world at Christmas. Simply beautiful!

It happened to me, also. It's normal to sometimes make mistakes.
This is exactly what I want to do, to avoid the imposed themes and to use my imagination. However, it is more convenient to post in challenges ...
That's because yours are thoughtful pieces. Mine are usually eclectic and all over the place. I find it quite the opposite you can find it easier to post when it is not in challenges.

Lovely shots, the sepia toning makes them very mysterious? That's not the right word... I'm struggling to find the right word, but I really like them. This is something I never do for some reason. Got to give it a try sometime. Really like them, and the flower and cat too! U+R :)
Thanks, Keith! @keithboone I was never big in sepia and only did it for the #sepiasaturday tag. I thought I would give it a try. I have a lot of trouble with black and white and sepia, finding the right picture to do it justice.

I'm not generally a fan of sepia images but you have made me think twice @dswigle The bridge scene is awesome with a very appealing perspective and the detail on that carving is beautiful. The artist has given a lot of thought to the arrangement of the figures and I really like the flow and movement he has created.
