I have been to so many new places lately! I love to share and be shared with! I have always and forever liked to see different fruits and vegetables or products that are being sold. Perhaps I cannot get them here. So, yes! I would love to see yours! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery store, the local marketplace or even an art gallery. Wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market! We will love it! I promise you! This weekend, I went to a Home Show at the Convention Center in Virginia. It is something I look forward to every year as they have renovation ideas and new products... everything is set up and demonstrations go on for three days. Kitchen and bathroom renovations, landscapers, builders and butchers, You name it, it was there. I have seen some amazing things there and even purchased one or two. I am a very hard sell, though. I need to NEED it in order for me to buy it. I was looking for a few things this year. I actually found a few that were enticing.
There were beds set up at this display. Lay down and see how it feels!! It was like a free for all! Everyone laying down while the salespeople ask you how it feels... Ummm. Like a bed?
Their renovations were impressive and this company had many different layouts with the same materials being used. I am a huge fan of black and white. Clean and crisp looking. Although, admittedly, I have dark cherry cabinets and I love them too. If I lived in a warmer climate, I would probably go with the white.
The Convention Center has about 25 of the aisles on one side and then more in the next building. I won't put you through the pain of having to see everything, but, I will give you an idea of what there was. Come on! It will be lots of fun!
The Beekeepers Cottage was my favorite place, I think.
There were jars with fancy tops. I really liked these and was tempted to get a couple sets. I think they would be pretty and useful.
Soy is good for your skin. It brightens it and improves the skin tone...if you have splotchy red spots, it lightens it and it also gives you a collagen boost. Can I get you one?
Those jars were the perfect thing for these to go in. The lids have aeration, so this can breathe and the fragrance can waft throughout the house. They have so many homemade, organic products at these fairs.

These massage chairs are heaven. They are not like the ones you see in the mall. They apply heat to your muscles, they stretch your arms and legs, massage, roll, massage the bottoms of your feet... almost like having a masseuse giving you the treatment. Oh, the magic fingers are amazing.
You can swim and jacuzzi after. What a deal! It was a little unusual looking and I didn't notice until I looked a little closer that you could do swim strokes with it. A nice workout, right in the privacy of your own home. Winner!
I absolutely cannot believe that I didn't get this for my cabinets when I had this house built. I knew about it, but, I thought I wouldn't need one. How wrong was I?? So totally wrong!!! Next house, this will be in the plans! It will make life so much easier!
The distinctive glass was gorgeous! You could have it stained, clear, textured... whatever pleased you and worked for your budget.
I want to thank you for taking this trip to the Convention Center with me. There were literally hundreds of other vendors hawking their goods, but, the time and space are limited here and well, I do want people to be able to read the entire thing. Every year my daughter and I try and go to the Ideal Home Show which is very similar to this one. It is the one day a year when I get here all to myself. 😁
Sadly, we've missed the last couple of years for one reason or another. hopefully we'll make it this year. We usually go to the Christmas one in November.
That jacuzzi looks pretty cool although it looks like it's set up for rowing rather than swimming. Great idea though.
But my favourite thing was the glass fire guard. I've never seen a glass one before. I wonder how it handles the expansion due to heat though Maybe it's a special glass.
When I used to do stained glass work back in the day my pieces would often crack when they expanded because I was too much of a perfectionist in my cutting. Too precise and not enough gap. 😂
How nice for you, Gillian! Alone time can be soooo nice, right?? I know I struggle to find that place of me and me alone. :)
I went to the one around September here, where all the winter things are pulled out and it was just as good then, although, in the Spring one, they show off lots of renovation places and landscapers and even flowers and organic growers. It is another nice one and I haven't met one I didn't love@
You are right about the rower, although I can't for the life of me remember what I was thinking at 4am as I was trying to push the Market Friday out the door. I still haven't corrected the faux pas! Maybe after I finish this comment!
I have two glass doors on my fireplaces. One on each. :))They don't seem to be affected at all by the heat. I have no answers for you. They have been doing well since the house was built. I agree that there must be somthing special about the glass in how it handles the heat so well. You used to do stained glass??? Oh, how cool! I have about six pieces of stained glass and I love each and every one of them.

I bought one two years ago and I can honestly say I use it every single day!!! It even has heat so that your muscles warm up! The kitchen organizers I am soooo sorry I didn't get in this house. Maybe the next?

I do love going there and seeing what they have available - plus all the new things going on! I am really interested in building a net zero house so that even if the grid goes down, I can be comfortable. I am surprised at how little extra it costs to do this, so I am starting to look into it. It should be a fun experience! :))

Oh yeah I remember spending many hours lost at the home (and boat) shows. A great fun way to spend the day. It's always interesting to see what new products have been developed. I bet you got enough good pics for several market Fridays. You always put in so much effort, I enjoy going through them each week!

The home shows are fun and I finally decided that the net-zero house is the way to go. Have I told you that I decided that already? If the grid goes down, I can still be self-sustaining and well, isn't that the way we really all want to be? I am happy with this decision and now the fun begins. I have years to tinker with this thought and so let the fun begin!
I did take a lot of pics, but, you know how I am with using pictures and having a part 2... I am afraid people will run away from my post if I do that!
I do take some time on the post, but, that is mostly because I am trying to hone my skills! :)) I need some mad skilz, baby!

Lots of fun ideas to be had at a home show! I love all the pullout shelves in my kitchen cabinets. I guess I take them for granted, but they certainly make my kitchen so much more accessible for me.
I love those pullouts and I cannot believe I turned them down when I was having the house built. Ugh! Crazy. I went for jacuzzi tubs instead and an extra fireplace.
It is crazy, but, every little thing is $$$$ Oh, my!! But, I know that next time there will be pullouts. I have learned my lesson!!!! :))

I have a huge jacuzzi tub that hasn't been used in 10 years. It became far too dangerous for me to get in and out of and is now just a dust catcher! It will be gone in the next bathroom remodel.
Oh, I agree with you! I wouldn't get in it if I were you! Too bad you can't pull it out and give it away, but at 10+ years, it probably needs to be retired. I love renovating! I should have done it for a living and used other people's money for the satisfaction of doing it. :))
Even if I could get in it, I could never get back out! Since my measly SS check won't stretch far enough, my renovations will be paid for with Steem when the price goes up! There are several things I would like to change.
Oh, yes! That is my dream too... When the steem rises again. In the meantime, I will have some fun! :)

Well, glad that you stopped by anyway! @swedishdragon :) I always resteem all of the posts that are kind enough to join in the #MarketFriday Challenge! Every week. It is one of the things that I can do for them. (That and a little tip goes a long way!)
I only resteem one or two a day during the rest of the week. But, if you ever need to find a person's post, up top is a function that says hide resteems and it hides all but the persons. I find it handy. It was at a convention center and was a lot of fun looking at the new products! The jars were really pretty! Everyone wanted one.
The stained glass was a really popular item! Everyone was lined up to see that!

Well, I can say that sometimes the stained glass is not as weatherproof as regular glass if you are using it instead of a window. One of the reasons said it would not be as popular in Sweden with your weather. You don't need old man winter blowing in and freezing you!
I do like to support people and try to help them out whenever I can. I don't always have the means, but if and when I do, it's party time!😎

wow !!!! this is something interesting !!! I did not fully understand some of the points due to my poor knowledge of English, but what I understood I liked. eco home is a great idea. but I know countries where the owner of the house will be taxed heavily and, as a result, they will not be allowed to use it. Massage chair is great !!!! but I'm afraid all the time that it doesn't break when I'm sitting there. how then will they get me out of there? :)))) stained glass is great !!!! they make the house cozy and warm. I would love for my house something like that. The flower is very beautiful !!!!

Thank you so much, Tali @tali72 I think you actually understand really great, especially because English is not your primary language. I cannot tell you how little Russian I know! LOL I was wondering why they tax people have Leon me the Eco homes. They make great sense to me, especially using solar power and making it so you don't need to use utilities from the utility company. The massage chair is very awesome! I can say this with authority because two years ago, perhaps three now I bought one. I used it every single night after work and it massages you head to toe and even has Heat. It's not like the ones that they have in the public malls, but more of a professional piece of equipment. I absolutely love it and I'm pretty sure it will never break while I'm in there. And if it does you will be the first person I tell.
I love the stained glass and I have some of those that I bought in Europe and they do make the house so nice. Thank you so much 4 coming by and for dropping your link on the post. I think the reason is precisely this: people will not pay utility companies if they have eco houses. but it is not profitable for them. therefore, there are many laws that limit this. Alas!!!! I am glad that you live in a country where there is no such problem. How wonderful it is that you have stained glass windows and a massage chair (I really hope that you will never tell me that it broke and that you are stuck there :))))) It’s so great to go back to a cozy home in the evening, sit in that chair and have a nice relaxing massage, taking off all your daytime fatigue.
