Market Friday Takes Aruba by Sea
The California Lighthouse is located at the northwestern tip of Aruba. It has 123 steps to the top, by means of a spiral staircase. They do tours all day for a fee, which took me by surprise, but, it was definitely worth the climb. There are spots that are a little narrow and tight - and I am small. You can see the entire island from the top. I can only imagine how glorious it would have been at sunset. The lighthouse got its name after the steamship California, which was wrecked in nearby waters in September 1891.

So the joy may touch your soul
I have been discovering new places, some right in my own area! This week, I discovered a new farmers market that will be a walkable distance! I find that super exciting! I love to share and be shared with! I am intrigued by different cultures. It is exciting and yes! I would love to see yours! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery store, the local marketplace or even an art gallery, a kite festival! Wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market! We will love it! I promise you! I can feel that island vibe all the way up here! I watch a lot of sailing videos and they are always getting coconuts. Apparently there is some skill involved with the cutting them open and not losing a finger!
I will be back after I cobble together a mf post. Your posts always get me dreaming of one day getting to see all of these exciting places.
I'm not so sure about that. Next time I go I will do a finger check of the guy. They all seem pretty sure-handed and some don't even look as they're doing it.
To me, this part of the island isn't as much beautiful as very interesting although that could be argued. The other side of the island is a typical Sandy Beach and palm trees. Personally I find the difference alluring because there's only so many palm trees and sand that one can do, right. I knew it. You're a sand and Palm tree kind of guy aren't you?

Do you know that that is one of my favorite things to do! I love reading all about our wonderful world, one of the reasons I like working Friday or any post that delves into foreign travel.
The same with my Wednesdays so I get to virtually travel twice a week thats so cool now that I dont travel much :)

You would have had to drag me away from the lighthouse as I would have imaged every inch of it then imaged the whole island from the top in all lighting( morning noon and night). The fresh coconut would be awesome with a bit of rum in it =)

Almost forgot.... Flower
It is true! The lighthouse was truly amazing and you could see the entire Island from up there. It was not very big and as a matter of fact many people could not get up at because these staircase was spiral and not very big. But, it was still a fun venture rum from a coconut is pretty amazing especially when it's mixed with coconut milk.
I want to thank you for taking part in working Friday and I am not sure if the comment posted on your entry because my internet went down again and I am pecking this out on my phone. It has been like that up and down for over two months now. I'd be more annoyed if I hadn't been away for a month. Anyway I will go and check and see if it posted which I have a bad feeling about and think it did not.
