The Jellies. I love this room! It is my favorite room in the whole place! It is literally filled with tanks and you can spin a 360 and watch as each tank has a live ballet being performed at that very moment, trailing her tentacles behind her.

Yes! That hand you see is mine! I got to reach out and touch them! Do you know what a jellyfish feels like? If we are talking about the clear, see-thru ones, they feel like jelly. Not sticky at all, but very soft. The darker red ones with the long tentacles feel like jelly.
Cool, but, strange feeling.

i called the boy who use to love me

and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"

I am so jelly over those photos! (See what I did there) Well a good thing they dont have any Irukandji jellyfish floating in the petting tank! I hear those things are horrible! Well admission is not cheap but seemingly well worth it!! Oh such stunning pics! Even the sub looks like it has been through the war... I am on a roll with the funnies today. Just stand back and watch out lol.

Oh my gosh! You made a funny! I'm not sure what kind of jellyfish those are that you mentioned, but I'm pretty sure then I'm glad that they're not in the petting tank.
If you say that you heard they're terrible, I'm going to take your word for it. It's been a long time since I have been stung by a jellyfish, but I haven't forgotten what it feels like. The admission is not cheap, and although it's worth every penny, the Steep price makes it impossible if you have a young family and you're counting your pennies. I was pretty surprised the first time I went and saw how much it was. Perhaps because the aquarium in Washington DC was free or if it wasn't for you was pretty cheap. It has since closed. I'm sure there's no correlation between the two. LOL
Yes because the aquarium is right on the wharf they have the battleship and other ships docked there. As always, thank you for stopping by and taking a look-see! I hope you have a good rest of your day.

Well the good thing is we dont have Irukandji here. They are in warmer waters off Australia. Peopla are hospitalized and the symptoms are so agonizing that people can literally have cardiac arrest from the pain. The weird thing is they are about the size of your thumbnail lol. See how full I am with useless and less than amazing trivia lol.
All those things are deadly, or they can be. They are in the venomous species a box jellyfish. I can honestly say that I'm glad we don't have them over here, being as I love playing in the water. They are so tiny and one of the most venomous in the world. Thankfully for me, but not for Australia, they inhabit the waters in the northern part of Australia. Thanks for all your useful information. You never know what I'm going to need it.

LOVE the photos! They are truly beautiful creatures. So funny..I was talking to my husband yesterday about visiting the Aquarium. He has a couple days off next month and we haven't been in years. This makes me even more excited to go! I have felt jellyfish in the ocean and they are soft and strange feeling indeed but their sting is not..ouch! ;)
Thank you so much! They really are such gracefully beautiful creatures. I just love listening to the music in the jelly room at the aquarium and I think I could stand there all day, being mesmerised by their slow and oh so lovely movements.
I hope your husband and you do go to the aquarium. It seems like I don't go for a long time and then I want to go for a week, on a daily basis. I'm glad you were excited and yes! I think anybody who has spent any length of time going in the water throughout their life has probably come across one or two, and hopefully they are the harmless kind. Although it does not sound like yours was harmless.
Well the Blossom Festival is having their Kite Festival this weekend and takes place around the Washington Monument. It should be a good time all know it's going to be intermittent clouds which means the pictures will not be in the least bit nice. Oh well, it happens. It's just a hop skip and jump down to the Tidal Basin, so I think I will just mingling with the crowd and go see the cherry blossoms once again. And again. And again. They're so short-lived I have to get down and look at them every chance I get.

Oh, but yes, it is!! The tickets were surprisingly pricey, but, I thought that it was because our aquarium in Washington, DC was free, as are most of the zoos and museums in the area. As it should be. How can people become educated and know the ways of the world with price tags like that on it?
I did my post on my dinner at work, so excuse it. Oh, my! It was busy and I would have liked to have done it ahead of time or a little more to it, but, it is what it is!

I agree with you on that, but unfortunately aquariums and museums are not for free, tickets are very expensive. What bothers me more is that in some countries in Europe even churches have entrance fees, which is very, very bad. I remember in Germany almost every church had a fee ranging from €7 to €10. Strange and bad habits.

Jelly fish....mmmmmm...i have never really taken much notice of this sea creature only that i know they can be dangerous coming into contact with them but you have shown a different side to them and i imagine by the sounds of it you do love these sea creature to a certain degree and i did learn something new about these jellyfish today in the way they move along by squirting water out of their mouth and contract and relax muscles to push them forward interesting and i will say i do love visiting aquariums they do have a awesome one here in Bangkok that i haven't seen yet and i must one day. Thanks for sharing that info a interesting post indeed my friend :)

Well if you do any diving at all, it's not hard to take notice of them as they are free-floating in the ocean and in some Lakes, although not as common.
They can be dangerous and some of them will sting you, but there are a lot that are simply harmless. It really is kind of cool the way they move about. It sounds funny when you're trying to explain it to somebody but that is the truth of the matter. I love visiting aquariums also and I cannot believe that they actually have one in Bangkok and you have not been to it. I smell a new market Friday coming up in a month or so.
It's always my pleasure to share a market post with you and I am always grateful that you take the time to come over and read it. Although, God knows where you get the time with all that you do and your schedule. Including the parties! Well, the weekend is coming up so I will bet you a happy weekend and I will go to Richard post.
