My fascination with flowers is probably the worst kept secret. There is just something about them, their voices heard, like a soft whisper in my head. Oh, my lovely blooms, how do I love thee?

Oh, the allure of all things lovely.

I love the way Claude Monet says that there must always be flowers. Always. I can relate. Can you think of anything more beautiful than the loveliness of blossoms on a gloomy day? To be fair, our day here is supremely awesome, and yet... I still enjoy these blooms.

Who could deny that fate brought you together 'til the end of time? Your beauty displayed as you unfurl your bud, for all to see, for all to admire. As it should be. Always and forever.

There can be no such thing as redundancy when speaking about beauty. How can there ever be too much? Let's make this picture all about #MondayRed #ColorChallenge by @Kalemandra. Because for all practical purposes, she colors my world. Every. Single. Day.

Follow your passion they said. Follow your dream they said. Think how wonderful it will be. Just imagine.

Up close and personal is how I like to look at things. It truly gives a different perspective on things and sometimes changes how I see life.

Oh, please say that you are missing your heart of stone, for I found one on the beach betwixt the sand and shells. Hearts in nature. My favorite.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
