Macro Photography: Red Cotton Stainer
Greetings from @fahad3728 to all members. Hope you're all well and having a great time. By the Grace of God I'm also fine. I'm back today with some macro Photographs of a beautiful insect called red cotton stainer. Its scientific name is Dysdercus cingulatus and its size was about 12-15mm.
I discovered this insect in a sugar cane field sitting on a leaf. I was photographing larva of ladybug when i noticed it. It found it very colourful and beautiful. I decided to photograph it. So i approached it carefully and tried to take some macro shots. But it was moving all over the leaf and giving me hard time to capture it. But i didn't lose hope and kept trying. After some struggle i was able to capture some excellent shots of it. In macro images it looks more beautiful. Its a red bug having white lines on its body. It also has wings and it will fly away if you disturb it while photographing.
Now I'm going to share its pictures with you guys, but first let me share some information about it.
Dysdercus cingulatus is a species of true bug in the family Pyrrhocoridae, commonly known as the red cotton stainer. It is a serious pest of cotton crops, the adults and older nymphs feeding on the emerging bolls and the cotton seeds as they mature, transmitting cotton-staining fungi as they do so.
