Introduction

It should be a priority for all lives out there to be of great service to humanity, you don't have to wait till you have millions of NGN or USD in your account before you can give out, the little you give when you have nothing can make a difference.

Do not wait till you wanna contest for a political position before you start touching lives. Giving goes beyond doing it so that you can get people to support you to attain an office. Giving out of goodwill is priceless! Let me walk you through a charity journey I embarked on.

Charity Visit

Some time ago, I pioneered a project on Steemit which was themed "Feed the Orphans" to give to orphanages across this state (Osun state, Nigeria) under Steemit's name, there are numerous of them. It's not going to be limited to this state alone in the long run, we would touch other parts of Nigeria as well, the growth I pray for.

For the visit today, "28th of October 2022", I have chosen an orphanage that belongs to the Federation of Muslim Women's Associations of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Osun state chapter. This would be the second time I would be visiting this orphanage, the first time was also a charity visit during my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year after graduation from the University.

I served as the president of the Gender Community Development Service group during my NYSC year. A group that fights against human trafficking, child abuse, domestic violence, and being a voice for the voiceless, and so on, it's a pleasure visiting FOMWAN again after about 2.5 years.

To manage some mobility issues, I left the house to get a few products to be delivered to the orphanage from the mall then to the location, FOWMAN Complex.

I met the presence of a family who have come around to celebrate the first birthday of their twin boys as such I had to be patient till they are done for me to deliver the stuff I have taken to the place. The women managing the home addressed us while they highlighted that some of the orphans have left for the Jumat program, today is Friday.

I eventually had the opportunity to deliver the packages I have taken to the orphanage which include noodles, bath soaps, detergents, and tissue papers. And it was documented.

In addition, I utilized the opportunity to ask the management of the orphanage if there are special needs at the home, of course, a sheet was given to me, it's typically a simple list of those things they are frequently in need at the orphanage. A letter of appreciation was given along with the list I requested for.

Where are we Headed From here?

  • Feed the Orphans project continues.

  • As the Pioneer, I have started somewhere and I hope someday, I will take it bigger than it is at the moment.

  • We have numerous orphanages in my town not to talk of the entire state which means I have a bigger job on my hands. Definitely, I will ensure I take them one after the other to give to the less privileged through Steemit.

  • To improve the impact and frequency of the visits to orphanages, the project may be opened to donations from willing hearts across the world.

In conclusion, it's quite amazing to have been able to visit another orphanage for the week, giving the little I can give out under the "Feed the Orphans" project. As I highlighted earlier, one can do his/her part regardless of being wealthy or not.

If you are willing to learn more about the project or you are touched to give to lives out there, I will just leave my contacts below. Together, we can make the world a better place.
