Staying Up to Date With New Things on Steem - Evolution

I've just read a post by @exyle exactly on this topic. And in his post, Mark asks readers how do they stay up to date with everything on Steem.

And I admit, it's getting harder and harder for me to do that. Even though some say activity slowed down (on the blogging side), it has picked up on development, and in many more areas than before.

A year ago I think I could safely say I knew pretty much everything that was going on on Steem, as soon as it was made public, sometimes even before.

Now, sometimes weeks pass and I don't read about news that generated some traction.

@yabapmatt had a comment on Mark's post that says it all about this matter:

So Matt - true, one of the busiest guys on Steem -, doesn't always know everything going on in his own project, Splinterlands. It's that big the whole thing has gotten!

Imagine the entire Steem ecosystem. And the work being done in all corners and sides, some seen, others not yet.

How could anyone still be up to date with everything? I know Mark is a dedicated guy and knows a lot about what's going on on Steem, but I'm pretty sure the entire ecosystem has reached a point by now that even he doesn't know everything, and some news reach him with a delay.

It's only natural. And that's great for Steem, as Matt remarked in his comment. We have grown beyond the capacity of a single individual to keep track of everything that matters, as it happens or soon after.

Imagine if SMTs were here too! Or even if Steem-Engine and Scot grow much larger than today.

Or when we will have 100,000 active steemians daily. How about 500,000? I'm not even saying millions yet.

We will really need to pick and choose our niches, communities and areas of interest, the more Steem grows, or we will be overwhelmed.

Sort:

I have just written a few days ago the same thing about getting hard to keep the pace with all the new things on STEEM. But, I like that very much! I would rather be uninformed than bored on blockchain that does nothing... I think that STEEM is currently one of the busiest BlockChains out there...

Yeah, for sure. It's very exciting to know that wherever you turn in this ecosystem you can be surprised. All you have to do is look, and keep an open mind.

We call that the overflow of information. ;)

Yes, it's true. And in today's world it happens often.
