A fine day| 5% for SL Charity.

I was into Sri Lankan English novels and I became a fan girl of few of Sri Lankan English writers. I was so excited that our department is organizing a panel discussion to which we are gonna invite Sri Lankan English writers as the panelists. I was over the moon when my favorites accepted our invitation. So it is no needed to tell how excited I must have been about this event.

The D-day came and we were very busy with preparations. Our department is a very small department in number when comparing to the other departments. So all of us have to give our best when organizing such events. But I think many of us were equally looking forward for this event as Ashok Ferrey and Carmel Miranda visited us in person and Yasmin Azad and Shankari Chandran joined us via zoom.

It was a typical fan girl moment as you would think where a girl meets their favorite celebrity or an athlete. I was a fan of their work at first. But I became a fan of their personality after listening to their discussion. We had a small book stall which contained the books of the novelists. I was looking forward to purchase some books there. But I was so busy with the preparations, that I couldn't even bring my wallet there. I soothed myself thinking that I already have some books of the panelists and I can buy the rest later. Other than that, it was a very fine day. It was a fine day indeed.

I think the panelists also enjoyed the session as much as us. It's gonna be one more memorable day of my uni life.
