A Response Poem: The Love I Seek

As an eldest, it's one of my responsibilities to assist my sisters when it comes to school matters. So my sister asked me to make a poem for her with some requirements to achieve, a rhyme scheme of AABB and should be in iambic tetrameter. I asked her when is the deadline and she told me that it would be tomorrow.

I told here to make her own first and I'm going to check it. But the truth is I was in panic. She gave me her output and checked it. And all I can say, I need to make a new one.

These past few months, my brain is in its rusty mode wherein I can't express my thoughts and emotions in poetry. So I panicked knowing that I have important matters to do right now so I need to make a poem like the flash.

Now aside from the two requirements: AABB rhyme scheme and Iambic Tetrameter, the poem should be response to the poem in their book.

So here's the poem I made:

My world is a mess, my life is full of glitch;
But I do dream of a love, so pure and rich.
An unselfish love that fills me is the key,
That will grab me in the abyss of my sea.

As the sun shines at its brightest
While birds chirping in their sweetest.
The flowers bloom and dance gracefully,
I have to ponder the words to say discreetly.

No material things can throb my heart --
Not a pure gold can flip the chart
If the love you give is true and bold
Then I shall come with you 'til I grow old.

I didn't know if I gave justice to the iambic tetrameter requirements but my brain is not functioning well and I have to go to the city right now.
