Breakfast on the run from Metro Store

I had an appointment yesterday morning in Makati that made me get out earlier without breakfast to somehow avoid the rush hour traffic. After the appointment, I was looking around on where to have breakfast because nearby restaurants were not yet open at just about 9:00 o'clock in the morning. They usually open along with malls at 10:00 o'clock.

I walked along Chino Roces Avenue while looking around then I spotted a guy standing while having breakfast along the sidewalk. Hhmmm... what's for bteakfast?

I approached the store to see what's cooking amd was surprised to see that they have full meal dishes. Sidewall stores like this usually sell finger foods or snacks in small volume but this looks like a mini-restaurant.

Ate (elder sister) was frying more of those in the left container which I thought was chicken but I still asked.

She said, "hipon" or shrimp. I realized she meant krill. Omelet krill, that is.

I exclaimed "oh really?" and she answered "yes ma"am. You can actually try it. Free taste."

Wow! Isn't that an amazing promotion? I almost took the bait but I realized I can not eat along the street. I have to admit I am a bit shy eating in the open sidewalk. I did not try the krill omelet as I felt oblige to buy if I do

I moved my eyes to the right and noted the buns. I know they use it for burgers so I asked what will the fillings be and how much.

Ate"said it will be my choice of egg, hotdog or cheeze whiz. I again asked the price. She said it is P15 for egg only filling and P35 if with hotdog because the hotdog costs P20. I ordered for one to be prepared. Then ate's companion, a teenager came out of the corner and prepared my order from the outside.

To the right of the store few meters away is another store of exactly the same structure.
I watch her prepare as started a conversation. I asked "how do you call your store?"

She said, "Metro Store."

"How about the others?"

"It's the same, ma'am. These stores were commissioned by the city government."

That's amusing.

When she's done putting the fillings, I asked her to stay put as I took this photo. Ate asked if I will post it on social media and I said "yes, is there a problem?"

She said there was once a post that defamed them, the collective Metro Stored, so they are careful now.

"Why was the defamation?" I asked.

"They complained on their post," she said without specifying the reason why they complained.

"Don't worry. For as long as there is nothing harmful in your foods then I will not be the one posting complains."

I asked, "how much is it again?" even when I recall the P35.

Ate recalled the fillings and said "forty because the cheeze whiz is five."

I giggled. Here is a product that you pay per its "piece"! That was US $0.78 in total. Yap, les than a dollar breakfast.

I told the teenager that I will take the bun away and she automatically prepared it in a bag.

It was a good chit chat early in the morning along the street. I will now have my breakfast in the bus.

The stores are hard to pick with specific address on Google map so let me show it through bigger landmark just beside them. They can not be missed when you walk along hino Roces Avenue in front of Makati Cinema Square.

Many people think it's not hygienic that's why they defamed them. But really speaking they are the best bet at times of hunger. I remember eating such filled bun at night when working at night shift. ...

Hey b careful ...you need to do more push up. ..atleast 77🙄

Hahaha... don't worry. People eat three times a day and I post only once so that actually means I am on diet. 😃

Still ...a junk food once a day is pretty enough for spoiling all diet😉

Nope. That's not junk food. It is actually just right for breakfast. 😝

Oooppss...here in India such street stall always have junk stuff

Not all street foods are junk foods. That still depends on what they are selling.

Howdy macoolette! Very interesting that they can run full meals in such a tiny space! Also, I've never seen a hot dog like that, was it good?

The hotdog is a typical elongated one. I just asked the young lady to cut it into two because it is protruding too much across the bun when it was still whole. Why? What does American hotdog look like?

Well, thanks to the hotdog and the other fillings that gave taste to the bun. That is because the bun itself tasted bland to me.

well the hot dog's over here would look the same as the ones there if the bun is long. We usually have mustard, onions, relish on ours, sometimes chili, cheese and all kinds of other ingredients but the first three ingredients that I mentioned are the typical hot dog toppings.

hehehe ang cute naman ng location ni ate!!

Yap, cute at malinis kaya hindi ako nag-alangan na bumili. 😊

Oo nga! For sure dami niya suki..

That just looks sooo goood! Sana makahanap rin ako ng stall na ganyan dito

Baguio City will have the same if the city government will commission them like these ones in Makati.
