5 Minute Freewrite: Thursday - Prompt: door step

When I was a child there was something I liked, sitting on the steps of the door, all the houses on the sidewalk had a backyard lower than the level of the house, so you had to go down the steps, the backyards were the area of I play outside the house.

When a group formed to play, I would make sure I had a place on the front steps that led to the patio. It was my favorite place because I would rather be a spectator than a participant, there I was, sitting in the stands!

When the games were more exciting, groups of girls would come, my cousins and the neighbors.
In the midst of the excitement, they sat next to me, without even asking my permission and ended up taking me out, it was as if they felt they had the right to take my place. I hated them!

This of course changed as I got older, I became interested in gaming more as a participant than a spectator.

I still feel good when I sit on the door steps. I usually do it at the university, when everyone has left, I stay for a long time on the steps of the doors of the faculty or the library.

I see the starry sky, I think things, I enjoy the cold air or the soft autumn breeze.
Anyway, I like it better than sitting in a park, I feel more protected from strangers and I can be with myself.

Also before arriving at my apartment I sit for a while on the steps of the door of one of the houses in the neighborhood, (I miss living at home).

I can sit there for a long time, checking my phone or writing some notes and the owners don't even notice, the front steps invite you to sit down and are a silent hospitality zone.
