Number 14 is coming =/= Nummer 14 kommt 👹🍣🎎 My Japan GER-ENG

It's that time again. After I missed the beginning of the typhoon season for understandable reasons, I am suddenly in the middle of the action. Typhoon number 14 is approaching and is supposed to race through our city. At least if you can believe the forecasts, which are currently being issued by the minute.

At the moment, number 14 is moving up the Sea of Japan,neatly following the coastline, and has already caused quite a stir in the south. On the southern island of Kyushu, the power supply failed already one day before the actual arrival of the typhoon. Or maybe it was just switched off as a precaution. Better safe than sorry.

Tomorrow morning, we are supposed to be in for the real thing, but I'll let myself be surprised. Last year, another "monster storm" was announced, and then we only saw a lukewarm breeze. However, elsewhere it was not quite so peaceful though.

But you can feel that something is coming up. The temperatures today were over 35 degrees, and also at night the thermometer will probably only fall to 25 degrees. And that in the middle of September. But since we are in the year 2022, weather abnormalities have unfortunately slowly become a habit, and in recent years even here in the land of the rising sun we' re getting quite a bit of that.

In any case, tomorrow will be quite wet, and after that the hot weather will probably leave us for quite a long time. For today, we just have to wait and hope that at least the big storm will change its mind and turn towards the open sea.

Es ist mal wieder soweit. Nachdem ich den Anfang der Taifun-Saison aus nachvollziehbaren Gründen verpasst haben, bin ich auf einmal mittendrin. Taifun Nummer 14 ist im Anmarsch und soll wohl mitten durch unsere Stadt rasen. Jedenfalls wenn man den Prognosen glauben darf, welche zur Zeit im Minutentakt herausgehauen werden.

Im Augenblick zieht Nummer 14 gerade das Japanische Meer hinauf, immer artig an der Küste entlang und hat im Süden bereits für ordentlich Aufregung gesorgt. Auf der Südinsel Kyushu soll wohl bereits einen Tag vor Ankunft des Taifuns die Stromversorgung ausgefallen sein, oder vielleicht hat man sie auch nur vorsorglich ausgeschaltet. Sicher ist sicher.

Bei uns soll es angeblich morgen früh richtig zur Sache gehen, aber ich lasse mich da mal überraschen. Im letzten Jahr wurde auch schon "der Monstersturm" angesagt, und dann war es zumindest bei uns nur ein laues Lüftchen. Aber anderswo war er dann doch nicht ganz so gnädig.

Aber fühlen kann man dann doch, dass etwas aufzieht. Die Temperaturen lagen heute bei über 35 Grad, und auch nachts wird das Thermometer wohl maximal bis auf 25 Grad sinken. Und das Mitte September. Aber da wir ja im Jahr 2022 sind, sind Wetterabnormalitäten leider langsam zur Gewohnheit geworden, und auch hier im Land der aufgehenden Sonne bekommt man in den letzten Jahren demhingehend eine ganze Menge aufgebürdet.

Der morgige Tag wird auf jeden Fall ziemlich nass werden, und anschließend wird das heiße Wetter uns wohl für eine ziemlich lange Zeit verlassen. Für heute bliebt nur abwarten und hoffen, dass zumindest der große Sturm es sich doch noch einmal anders überlegt und Richtung offenes Meer abbiegt.
