Sculptural Works: Fighting For The Throne And More...
Today, I headed to my alumni, Uniuyo to check out some amazing works that are there. Most works were done by ex students and were used as their final year project. They are all sculptural works and are situatedat the town campus. There's no how you will pass there without taking a closer look and admiring them.
The first piece that caught my attention is this very one below. The fighting and struggle for the throne.
These are traditional rulers or kings men who probably saw off the King and are now dragging who will sit at the throne.
This is the same thing that happens in our country where some politicians use all means to ensure they get what they want.
The next depicts a muscular young man more focused on his phone. He's got a big earphone on his ears and he's sitting on two large books. Who earth could finish those?
We can see him matching tone smaller book as though he's no longer interested in education. Perhaps he's more concerned in games or probably seeking digital knowledge.
The above is followed by a woman who seems to be angered and aggressive. From the inscription, the piece is entitled 'Campaign For Women Leberation' and was created by Blessing Bassey.
There is no atom of joy on her face. She seems to have broken apart the cains on her.
I couldn't resist to take a shot of this sunset surrounded by flowers. Ahh, I almost passed it, but I went back to snap it😊
And finally! I found this sculptural work of a palm wine tapper done by Uwem Isaac. He's got his locally made bucket at back and a hat on his head as he walks majestically to where his palm wine is situated.
That's all for today...
All photos were taken by me using Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.
Have a nice day.
