I've wondered before what makes them so raggedy, as I've had a few visits from some beat-up butterflies - now I'm going to have to Google! LOL!
Okay, nothing exciting from my search - basically they get tears as their wings age, and from bumping into things. 😜

Bitter cold here, too, but minus the snow. It all stayed north of us. Snow butterflies! I like that idea.
