That is so cool! I have never given much thought to Daniel Boone's parents!' Where is this at?

Is in Mocksville north Carolina Daniel Boone lived there with his parents and had his own business hunting and selling deer

I wonder if he had any idea he would be remembered so far into the future. How are you dear friend?

Neat! I like to visit cemeteries too. My dad used to take us out as kids, with paper and charcoal pencils to do “gravestone rubbings”.

I remember doing that as a kid! It must have been in Girl Scouts.

You make good photographs of the places you visit.

Place looks very peaceful and I see some houses there if I am not mistaken. Living near a cemetery seems a bit out of the ordinary but for sure you would have no issues with disturbances and noises around. Your photos are looking good.

The house I grew up in was across the street from a cemetery. It was where I learned to ride my bike on the quiet roads and now it is where all my family is buried. I will be too, someday.

I have no idea where I will end up. I plan to be cremated and must decide where I want the wind to pick me up.

I plan on being cremated also, but want a memorial stone in the cemetery with the rest of my family. Grandparents, lots of aunts and uncles, my parenst, my brother and my partner are already there, and my stone will be between those two.

good thought

It will all be our final destination but you my friend will still be hanging for a very long time. Also we will still be meeting each other one day lol.

now is the Daniel Webster who wrote the dictionary I grew up with?

I love these places you photograph and your photos make me feel like I am there.

This Samuel.was almost 100 years before Daniel. Most likely a relative of sorts, though, I would suspect. Daniel bought a chunk of land in Wisconsin as an investment when Wisconsin was first becoming a state. It is just up the road from me, but he never even came to Wisconsin to see it.

demasiado interesante su trabajo, gracias por compartirlo gracias por su apoyo

oh ohh what a showstarter you gave us!!!! & i soo like the gate, what a treat :D <3

Excellent Melinda, I like the shots.

Very interesting signage. I love that mothers and wives one. Then I wondered....were they not buried with their spouses? They certainly didn't live that long back in those days. Mind you I've seen long years on some headstones from the 1800's.

It's always interesting to read about life during those times once you've seen their name and date of birth/death.

I believe everyone was buried in the cemetery and the sign was just a tribute to the wives and mothers? To honor their sacrifice?

aw.....I like that.
