These photos were taken in my backyard. I love to see birds visit that I can't immediately identify. It then becomes a challenge to get a photo so that I can go and look for info about them I never paid much attention to all the different types of sparrows before, but rather just lumped them all together as sparrows. It's become a challenge to see how many different kinds come to visit.

Beautiful...caught this bird down in Venice Florida...have to research it's name
He is a beauty, I'm not very good with Hawk identification. If you put your photo into a post and use @keithboone and the #Featheredfriday tag more people will see it and I'm pretty certain, if you ask for ID help, someone will know what he is! Maybe a Coopers Hawk?

I heard something about an organization asking people around the world to identify and report the birds that came through their area on a given day / hour. Do you do anything like that? I don't know the details, but it was some sort of citizen science to track the health of various species.
I have done bird counts in the past... Audubon does one each December. I haven't participated for a while though and I don't remember the details. It was interesting to count.
We have those little sparrow up here also, although they are not around yet, I am looking forward to them the little sparrows, and chickadees, and finches should be sounding off soon, the sooner the better cause that means it is spring.
I've been hearing more and more bird song each morning. And today I saw a chipmunk out in the snow and heard sandhill cranes overhead. Poor things are as hopeful as we are! But we have below-zero temps predicted all week so I think we all may have to wait a bit longer.

You have given me a wonderful idea, this next week I am working and taking some beautiful photos to make a post about my beautiful island.
You could do a beautiful Venezuela post every week! Make it a theme for every Tuesday or whatever day you choose. I would love to see that! Just a couple of photos of some of the lovely things you like most.
You're right. Begin to do that next week, this week I will show one of the places I like most on the island and I know everyone loves it

I really do look forward to seeing what everyone is posting to the tag! And I am learning a lot from all of these great bird posts. I am so happy that it is a successful effort. Another cold week here with below zero temperatures. Perfect weather for hanging out on Steem.

Thanks so much! Feathered Friday is not a contest.It's a challenge. So no winners or losers, just a great tag for sharing pictures of birds from all over the world. I'll bet you could find some interesting birds to share here, also.
I did share one post with a lot of birds in it but never knew about feathered Friday, next time if I see any birds, I will save them for this challenge

Hey, I thought about this tag on Friday, yesterday when I saw a huge flock of cockatoos when I was driving. I'll try to catch them another time, though the most striking thing about these flocks is the amount of noise they make.
Oh that would be fun to hear, but a photo of the birds and a description of the noise would be fun, too!
I saw them again today but I was indoors, one day I will be lucky I hope
