Mountain Monday

#MountainMonday by @keithboone

The Sangre de Cristo Mountains rise over the town of Santa Fe, New Mexico to the east. They are the southern end of the great Rocky Mountain range.

The Rockies, as they are commonly called, extend for a distance of about 3,000 miles beginning in the northern part of the Canadian province of British Columbia and stretching all the way into the United States where they end in southwestern state of New Mexico.

Thanks, Pix!

This mountain range looks very impressive. I like that brick color on the cliffs. This is a difficult place to walk, but I think it attracts many lovers of mountain landscapes. Thank you for interesting information, @melinda010100

I agree that it is a difficult place to walk! Most of my touring was done from a car window, and that made it quite enjoyable!

i always try resteem your post, cause your every post carry on very meaning full. any way all mountain and landscape photography are very beautiful. thanks to share.

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it!

Very interesting... so the southern rockies are quite a bit different than the northern. Great photos, I love those red cliffs. Voted & resteemed :-)

You would never guess it is the same mountain range, would you?

Brings back memories. My son and I backpacked for two weeks in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of Northern New Mexico back in the summer of 2001.

I was there in 2010 and there had been so many acres burned in forest fires that it wasn't even pleasant to be there. Then the next year was the Los Alamos fire. I bet it has all grown back and is beautiful now!

We could see smoke from near Taos when we were on top of some of the mountains. I guess it’s an unfortunate but frequent occurrence out there.

You are probably right it is not a pretty sight to see immediately afterwards, but I'm sure by the next year it has already started to recover.

Nature's architecture. Those sort of mountains make the best castles and mansions. There always seems to be a story behind them whenever I see them.

I'm sure you would find plenty of stories there!

Hello my dear friend how are you? Looking at your photos I imagine wide open roads and long drives. A good music playlist and the kids sleeping at the back of the van. Stretching for 3,000 miles wow that is really really long. How long could it take to drive from end to end? A very very long drive I guess.

I am doing great and need to come by and see if you have been doing any new posts! I think driving the Rocky mountain range would be a massive trip and would not be able to be done in one summer season. I-25 is the north-south interstate highway that very roughly follows the mountains, but there would simply be too much to see and do to travel the highway like that and you would be forever stopping to tour parks and waterfalls and stopping to take pictures! Yellowstone Park and Rocky Mountain National Park and Glacier Park alone could take weeks.... And then Canada! I have never seen the Canadian Rockies. A lifetime of traveling! 😃

Sounds like a great road adventure. I really believe that it would take longer due to the stops on the amazing sites you come by. There is Canadian Rockies? Are you planning to see it? I never knew that there is also a Rockies version in Canada. Well I guess we are stuck here and maybe try to find something similar which I doubt lol. Maybe when steem goes to the moon we will come visit. The family gives their hugs my dear friend.

I am unable to do much traveling these days, so it is unlikely that I will make it to British Columbia. Now that I finally have time to travel, I really regret that that I have mobility issues that keep me close to home. The Rocky Mountains are an incredible mountain range. I do hope that you can come and see them someday. Keep stacking your Steem! Love to all! ❤️

Very interesting, glad to be able to enjoy this beauty

Thanks! It is a pretty part of the country!

I adore the beautiful colors that run through the mountains there!

It is a beautiful part of the world

Awesome Rocky mountain photography. I read this mountain my school life syllabus but today i saw it your photography. Thanks for sharing

This is just a tiny section of that magnificent mountain range. I am glad that you enjoyed seeing them.
