Thanks so much, Pix! Hope your mom is doing well!

A beautiful pelikan, and a very rare moment of money, of course, to later see the beauty of the wide-winged pelicans with extraordinary beauty.
Thanks for this , My Friend

My pleasure. I'm glad you enjoyed seeing them!

So cool to see those! I actually had a pelican in my dream last night. I forgot about it until I saw your post. I don't remember anything else about the dream except that I walked past a pelican standing on a bench or something. Strange...

A mystical connection. Probably why I felt inspired to post these photos today! 😃

I had that same thought!

Gorgeous birds! They come here in May for nesting from far Africa. And I did not know they live such long life.
Great to have a place for nice photo hunt 😉

And I did not know you had them there at all!

😊😊😊
Another chance to learn something new for both of us!

That is one of the best things about Steem!

Lovely shots, melinda. I am always really excited when a 'new' species finds its way back to my neighborhood too. We don't have pelicans but we have a very healthy population of blue herons.

beautiful photography... white duck may be.

Thanks! These are white Pelicans. They eat fish and have 9 foot wings.

Damn beautiful. I neve know they can live up to 30 years. Art of the nature they are.

😊Thanks! Art of nature is the perfect description!

I just love this first photo with the dam sign lolol
These are sure large beautiful birds, didn't know they
were that big! Curious what the rusty looking thing is
in the last photo on the other side of the river?

Using the newly released eSteem app and trying to figure out how to get a photo to show up in the comments. (I hate change!)

The dam sign is on one of the pillars of the highway bridge. Just beyond that is the rusty old railroad bridge. You can see Big Rock and the cave on the right. The dam has recently been removed, creating this big muddy area and letting the river take it's natural course through here. That last photo is looking across the river.

That is so fun to see.

Not in 100 years? ! Wow !

There were over 200 of them and they really drew a crowd! Most of them have left for favorite nesting areas. DDT and hunting had decimated the population, but they are making a great comeback.

I am happy to hear their numbers are recovering. So much damage we humans have done with our poisons and bad management of our sweet earth.
