What we are learning from FORMER CPS WORKERS. ...Plenty, and it ain't good. Part II

Yesterday we gave an example of a CPS worker who "came clean" and then spilled the beans about what really goes on inside the agency. That particular ex-worker was actually in one of the BETTER CPS units, and yet the revelations were still stunning and egregious. Today we are going to talk about two of the major types of abuse OF THE PUBLIC TRUST that seem to be commonplace within the field of "social work."

The most familiar is the abuse of children in the care of "Child Protective" "services. This is the most heinous abuse of the public trust I can think of, and many times it happens in the CPS "subcontractor" area...i.e. bad foster homes, or bad institutions for runaways/CPS seizure victims, etc. But as the following article clearly shows, it is not always the case..Sometimes the DIRECTOR of CPS in a given place is the perp! Cook County, MN is a small county, fortunately, and so this guy's crimes were fairly contained, but still:

"Beck was charged last summer with multiple felony and gross misdemeanor charges stemming from a pattern of alleged physical and verbal abuse toward two children. He served as Cook County's human services director from August 2016 to July 2017. A criminal complaint said two children, ages 12 and 10, reported to investigators that they had been subjected to years of physical and verbal abuse, including strangulation, slapping, hair-pulling and name-calling."

The more disturbing part of this situation is the brazenness of a director if CPS abusing kids within his own care, of course, but the more interesting aspect for taxpayers may be this:

"Additional charges were dismissed under an agreement with the Lake County Attorney's Office, which handled the case on a special basis. Sixth Judicial District Judge Michael Cuzzo granted Beck a stay of adjudication, which will allow for the convictions to be dismissed if he successfully completes a year of probation.

Beck has continued to work in county government in Arizona, serving as the director of public health emergency preparedness for Gila County."

I had to read that twice, myself. HE PLEAD GUILTY TO ABUSING CHILDREN over a long period of time while the DIRECTOR of a government department whose only responsibility was to PREVENT ABUSE OF CHILDREN, and the dude is going to wind up getting off with a year of probation? What planet are we living on? Did we somehow slip into a parallel universe where crimes are rewarded instead of punished?

Sadly, this is the whole (semi-stealth) point of this Part II of what we learn from ex-"social services" workers...THAT THEY ARE APPARENTLY A PROTECTED CLASS even when caught red-handed in gross improprieties and gross abuse of the public trust. Next we turn to fiscal abuse.

In the other example, we have a social worker in Massachusetts a couple weeks ago who was caught bilking the taxpayers of that already egregiously over-taxed state by billing the Massachusetts state government (via their insurance carrier) for appointments that never even happened. Consider this excerpt:

"Kathleen D. McGovern, 64, of Northampton, pleaded guilty to one count of making false statements in connection with applications for payment of health care benefits, and one count of larceny over $250 in connection with the fraudulent billing of Health New England over five years for counseling services she did not provide.

Judge Richard Carey ordered her to serve three years probation with multiple conditions, including that she not offer counseling services, have no contact with people whose names she used to fraudulently bill the insurance company, that she undergo mental health evaluation and treatment and that she do four hours of community service work per week during her probation.

McGovern was originally charged with 38 counts of larceny of more than $250 and a single count of making false statements in applications for the payment of of health benefits."

Are you kidding me?? THIS WOMAN STOLE $125,000 over the course of five years, and she gets probation and a tiny bit of community service?? Let me draw your attention to two more little facts associated with this crime. She was NOT ordered to make restitution (i.e. she apparently is getting to keep the money...i.e. $25,000 for five years ON TOP OF her already bloated salary) AND she is being treated as mentally unstable.

A person who plans out a white collar crime this detailed and involved and who is able to avoid being caught for FIVE YEARS is NOT mentally ill. This person is MORALLY ILL as is the "justice system" which is letting her skate. I am just enraged that government-linked employees get such soft treatment from the courts, whereas regular citizens would likely be doing YEARS of hard time had they been caught for these identical offenses. It reminds me of the Jeffrey Epstein case where the billionaire Trump friend abused hundreds of young women and boys on a remote Caribbean Island for YEARS--even flying in multiple billionaire buds to also abuse these same children, and got...get this...13 months in a "prison" that he was free to leave from 16 hours a day during his "incarceration."

American justice is dead. Everyone knows it, and that is a major reason that the country is sliding towards total lawlessness. NO ONE--right or left--can respect and support a criminal justice system that CLEARLY favors certain classes of people over others.
