Porky-Beefy Pie for Qurator's Tasty Tuesday

When it comes to choose what to prepare for dinner, my hubby, who is the chef at home, makes each time something different. He may cook same dish over and over again but I feel it is not the same, because he always will change either an ingredient or combination of spices. He never measures the ingredients and he always tells "Taste, taste, taste." That is the secret of achieving delicious result.

Now for Qurator's Tasty Tuesday I will show you simple recipe of pie, that can be made according to your taste from whatever you have or like.

This crispy golden brown pie was made of puff pastry. If you like you can make it from a scratch. We used ready made puff pastry.

For the filling we use mince meat, which was half pork and half beef. In addition we add veggies. First they were roasted in the oven. We have peppers, red and green and some onions and sour apple, all put together in the pot. After they were ready, we minced them by adding some bread crumbs. Then mixed with the mince meat and additing spices and herbs, pinch of salt, cumin, black pepper and if you like spicy food you can add chilly like we did.

Then spread the mixture on the pastry.

On top we put cheese and because we have brie, that comes nicely with the little triangles placed evenly.

Of course you can use any cheese you like.

Next thing is to wrap and spread egg yoke.

The egg yoke is first whisked.

And spread with the brush.

Don't forget to punch and make little holes on top of the pastry.

The pie is ready to be put in the hot oven and baked for about 25-30 minutes.

When ready the pastry got this yummy look with its golden brown colour.

Inside the cheese melted.

The good thing about puff pastry is that you can use it with almost everything, sweet and sour. It is easy if you buy the ready made and all you have to do is to make the filling. Easy-peasy.
