"Unfortunately, you do not know it all."

One thing I encounter alot on here is thks i-know-all attitude. It's kind of patronising reading some of the replies from such people. You're been on steem for years, you understand coding, you have large stakes, however that doesn't make you an authority on everything steem related. Say what you know for what it is--an opinion. Do not force it down other people's neck. If coupled with your stats do understand there is room for error and 0.05 chance of things going contrary to your plans and prediction is still very significant. This platform will not go far with people who think they have to be right all the time. That's actually a sign to know person who is stuck in their own bubble. In my own opinion such people should not be given audience.

The entire nature of this blockchain is unpredictable. A lot we learn on here is through trail and error. No model is 100% perfect and everything on here is in a constant flux. What we expect might have a mild impact may eventually result into something drastic.

A lot of the changes or prospective changes on this blockchain are futuristic in the sense that their impact are supposed to be felt in the future, which I like to point out is uncertain. And yes we can speculate. The whole nature and future of crypto and blockchain technology is built on speculation. However, it is imperative that we do not lose sight of what we have now and how we can improve on our weakness.

As we all move towards this path of success as a community, we should open our minds to other people's opinion. Also, it's not about sounding smart and using bogus terminologies. If the average steemian does not understand your ideas they will resist it. Fortunately this platform is not for the smart folks alone, we are all part of the conversation and we contribute in our various ways to the growth and improvement on this platform.

I really do not want to fall under category of users who are always trying to define other people's experience, tailoring them to suit their own interest and goals. One way we can avoid this is by staying clear of this polarises view that it's either wrong or right. Sometimes an idea might be good but it's delivery poor and vice-versa.

Sort:

Sometimes I refrain from even speaking when it comes to disagreements that I may have with whales. I feel like all you have to do is piss off the wrong guy and he will start flagging you into obscurity.

The other problem is that some person with a very high stake will make some asinine self serving suggestion about changing the way Steem works, then 100s of leeches start to pour in to defend his/her position in hopes to stoke the whale's ego in exchange for juicy up-votes.

I feel like we are at a bit of a crossroads on the Steem platform, but I don't really know what any path will lead to. I only know that something will likely have to change in order for this ecosystem to be sustainable.

Well I do understand how that feels. I just try to be as objective as I can be and if the argument becomes too intense I withdraw.

And yes something has to be done to improve the steel ecosystem and I think we are in the process of finding what that is. However, whatever solutions we are proffering it should benefit a significant numbe of steem users and not just the ecosystem's upper-class
