Taking A Step Into Brighter Days.

Growing up I heard tales of fraud on the internet, how people were being duped with the prospect of making clean money without much work, I’ve seen many of my friends duped to the bone and making a vow never to venture into any business of sort. The sting of failed adventuress still raw on their hearts, so when @valchiz and @adebayopaul introduced us to Steemit naturally we were wary, some didn’t even want to hear.

Steemit was introduced to us as a platform where we post write-ups and earn money. But essentially they made us understand that it was about developing one’s self mentally and making friends. Leaving the comfort zone that we’ve built for ourselves to display did I say display, our talents to the whole of the Steemit community.
They also talked about having a niche, most of my friends have already started posting, some of them into poetry, science especially for the steemstem and stemng sub-community, steemhunting, music and videos and so on.

It seems I forgot to introduce myself, my names are Olaniyi Oluwadamilola, from Nigeria in Africa, West Africa to be precise. I am 6ft tall and chocolate in complexion with favorite colors being blue and black and best food Rice and Plantain.

They-also said a lot about the rules here on Steemit, about how plagiarism is highly prohibited and rightfully punished. Original works are what is really welcomed and encouraged. We were told plagiarism was checked by a robot named cheetah that leaves comment on the blog of the user that plagiarises.
We were also introduced to an application called discord where we can chat with fellow Steemit users and our friends and join many sub-communities to get better on Steemit. I tried opening one but it seems my phone doesn’t support the application. I hope to get a new one soon and start chatting with fellow steemians. Not that chatting with steemians through commenting doesn’t work for me but the discord app seems more closer and faster.

I haven’t really discovered my niche as anything goes for me from science to poetries and so on. But seeing as I am a medical student most of my post will be health related, issues developing from health risks and ways to maintain them, anything important I’m being taught at school.
My main aim here is to make as much friends as possible on Steemit and communicate freely with them because I believe friendship is what really keeps us going when we are down and let’s not forget the memories.

With all that has been said, I hope I am welcomed into the Steemit community with open arms and I hope my stay here well it is for a while goes well and when I look back I would have no coase for regret.
