Austria 2019 - Way home | Heimweg [EN/DE]

This is the last of three posts of my trip to Austria this year. This time I want to introduce you into the high art of car photography. No, I don´t talk about taking photos of cars, I mean taking pictures while driving. Not when I´m driving myself of course. And actually it´s not high art, it´s more like making a virtue of necessity. I never can´t take my eyes off the beauty that is surrounding me, even when we are just driving home on the autobahn. And of course nobody else in the car wants to make a stop every five minutes, if you still have to drive 500km, just because little Patsch discovers the hundredth interesting tree.

Dies ist der letzte von drei Posts meiner Reise nach Österreich in diesem Jahr. Dieses Mal möchte ich euch in die hohe Kunst der Autofotografie einführen. Nein, ich rede nicht davon, Fotos von Autos zu machen, ich meine Fotos während der Fahrt. Natürlich nicht, wenn ich selbst fahre. Und eigentlich ist es keine hohe Kunst, eher eine Tugend aus der Not zu machen. Ich kann die Schönheit, die mich umgibt, nicht aus den Augen lassen, auch wenn wir nur auf der Autobahn nach Hause fahren. Und natürlich will keine andere Person im Auto alle fünf Minuten einen Stopp machen, wenn wir noch 500 km fahren müssen, nur weil die kleine Patsch den hundertsten interessanten Baum entdeckt.

There are some things you should pay attention to:

• Open the window if possible
• Select a short exposure time
• Take care not to capture your windows frame. You can crop the image later, but it´s still annoying.
• Be quick and don´t wait too long - sometimes it´s the only chance until the view is over

Es gibt einige Dinge, die man beachten sollte:

• Öffne das Fenster wenn möglich
• Wählen eine kurze Belichtungszeit
• Achte darauf, den Fensterrahmen nicht zu erfassen. Man kann das Bild später beschneiden, aber es ist immer noch ärgerlich.
• Sei schnell und warte nicht zu lange - manchmal ist es die einzige Chance, bis die Aussicht vorbei ist

Here´s my little gallery - in chronological order - from our way back home from Neukirchen, Austria, via Kitzbühel, Niederndorf, Munich, Stuttgart to Karlsruhe, Germany. When I wasn´t driving or reading a book to my child, I took these pictures. Most of them are from the beginning, because the weather in Austria was beautifully wintry and misty. The snow dissapeared suddenly at the border to Germany. By the way, it took us 8 hours instead of 5,5 due to traffic jams..

Hier ist meine kleine Galerie - in chronologischer Reihenfolge - von unserem Rückweg von Neukirchen über Kitzbühel, Niederndorf, München, Stuttgart nach Karlsruhe. Wenn ich selbst kein Auto fuhr oder meinem Kind kein Buch las, nahm ich diese Bilder auf. Die meisten von ihnen sind vom Anfang, weil das Wetter in Österreich schön winterlich und neblig war. Der Schnee verschwand ganz plötzlich an der Grenze zu Deutschland. Übrigens dauerte es acht statt fünfeinhalb Stunden wegen der vielen Staus.
