Using CoinPayments.net to promote STEEM - stage 1 - encouraging existing vendors to keep accepting STEEM
CoinPayments.net is an integrated payments gateway that provides online merchants with the ability to accept payments in over a thousand different cryptocurrencies.
STEEM and SBD are among the altcoins that can be taken via CoinPayments.net.
Currently there are almost 70 merchants listed as accepting STEEM and SBD out of a total of around 3,800 using CoinPayments.net.
In my previous post yesterday I put forward a plan of how CoinPayments.net could be used to spread the adoption of STEEM and SBD as payment options to thousands of merchants around the world...
Stage 1 of that plan is to encourage the 70 vendors already taking STEEM to keep accepting it.
To help with this I have started going through all those vendors and checking what they offer and whether they clearly state whether they are still accepting STEEM.
For many of the merchants it is not apparent if STEEM is accepted without going through the whole checkout process.
Alternatively emailing the merchants will be the other route to check.
Below is the start of this survey.
I am hoping to make some test purchases but so far I have found very few stores in the UK where I am based. Shipping, and potential customs charges, will make purchasing from overseas stores unviable in the most part.
Many of the stores I have looked at are selling items I really have no need for.
The most likely option looks to be Dr Apis honey in Portugal, although that is also available directly from the steem based Homesteaders Co-op.
If I was in the USA I would definitely try CryptoPet, Decodense, Immodestea, PexPeppers and Salts Worldwide.
If anyone in the USA would like to try STEEM purchases from any of those and write a review about it I would definitely give you an upvote.
There is also Price-Breaker in the USA that has a big range of items. This is the site that @theycallmedan highlighted recently for taking STEEM payments.
If I ever happen to be heading in the direction of Sardinia, Italy I would definitely check out the Hotel Marini. In fact I have never been to Sardinia, so maybe this would be perfect excuse to take a holiday there...
I will continue with this survey of the vendors on the STEEM list on CoinPayments.net...

Coincidence of the coincidence
When seeing the list entities that accept Steem I noticed that the Hotel Marini accepted ... Coincidence of the coincidence I was in Sardinia of vacations through Booking and I still had not given the feedback. Logic that gave the maximum score and I made reference to the fact that they are accepting Steems. I did my part :) Up votes please :)
Great post. Best way to build the STEEM economy is to start using STEEM for online purchases. I've ordered from bitstickers. Great products. Not familiar with the other ones. That VPN service is looking interesting.
