Beaded Bracelet

I love beaded bracelets and the way the lay across the wrist. They look and feel delicate and catch your eye.

My Loom

This is my loom. I found it at a rummage sale several years ago.

It's old, but it's the most sturdy loom I've owned, and I haggeled the price down from $2 to $1.50.
It's not about the two quarters. It's about thrill of the negotiation.

How To Place A Bid

Placing a bid is super easy.
Leave a comment with your bid. Example-If you want to leave a bid of 2.5 SBD, your comment should read: bid 2.5
That’s the easy explaination. For a more detailed explaination on bidding and revoking a bid, see the excerpt from the tutorial on @steembay below.

1)(directly) to the post with "bid x"
(replace the x with the amount you are willing to bid. Decimals have to be written with a fullstop instead of a comma AND a possible zero at the start has to be written out. The version ".5" will not work ( use 0.5 ) and the version "5,9" won't work either ( use 5.9 )

  1. wait for the bot to log in the bid (it will tell you in seconds if it worked... sometimes it takes up to a minute due to transaction failures of the system)
  2. You will get a replie when you were overbid.
SOON you will see in the bots starting comment what is the actual highest bid and who is the actual highbidder
if you need to retract your bid just enter "revoke bid"

Excellent handwork, looks like a piece one of my sisters would make. I'd have guessed the jeweler was a First Nations Person. Really beautiful!

I'm a little Cherokee, and I definately take pride in the heritage. I love to do bead work. I'd say half of it is inspired by American Indian patterns. Thanks for the compliment!

My favorite quote from dearly departed Principal Chief Wilma Mankiller — 'An Indian is an Indian regardless of the degree of Indian blood or which little government card they do or do not possess.'

Very pretty!!! I don't think I could manage those tiny little seed beads. My grandmother had a loom though, and would make belts and other accessories to go with an full Native American outfit she had made. Thank you for the pleasant memory of her. Good luck with the auction!

You don't happen to have any pictures of her work, do you? I'd love to see it.

If so, they're buried in boxes at my mother's house. I used to put the beads on safety pins and hung the pins next to each other, eventually creating a little picture. I had a whole book of patterns for that. I'm just full of childhood memories lately! Haha!

I used to do that too! And I kept my kids busy for minutes at a time with it when they were little. ....they had short attention spans.

So pretty! Way to go on haggling, too!

Oooo! I love it!!
I was just thinking about you the other day, wondering if you had any more interesting jewelry pieces up for sale.
Beautiful work! ♥
