Perspective Use it - or lose it

Illusions, finished reading it this morning.

The library sells some books on the ‘honestly system’ in the corridor. I am waiting for the main library doors to open and begin exploring bookshelves.

In the row of hardbacks are all different sizes of books a little paperback comes into view. Picking it up I can tell it has been read many times, the pages are in good condition and limber. I’ve seen this little book over the years, but never bothering to pick it up until this moment.

My review for you

The title is, “Illusions the Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah”, by Richard Bach, published in 1977, 191 pages in length.

A short read, which I enjoy a little at a time in between life's other moments.

I found it a fun read about the two pilots, one being a mechanic who writes the book. What is amusing is the first chapter pages are not numbered and the pages made to look like notebook paper with mechanic grease on them appearing as a numbered outline about the Messiah.

wikipedia: "Illusions revolves around two barnstorming pilots who meet in a field in the Midwestern United States. The two main characters enter into a teacher-student relationship that explains the concept that the world that we inhabit is illusory, as well as the underlying reality behind it."

This book is important in my life at this time.

Because for one it is fiction so I don’t have to judge, as we often do every word an author throws out at us. Does it align with our beliefs? We can push that knowing it is fiction.

Of course, we know Richard Bach is Stephen King’s alias, I feel delight and surprise at his consciousness in writing this particular book.

Here are a couple of excerpts

Page 149: “What you haven’t realized is that you’re already free, you always have been.”

Page 150: “To bring anything into your life imagine it’s already here.”

Go to this link for more about the plot in the story.

One of the titles in this post is from a quote in the book, "Illusions"

Perspective Use it - or lose it. If you turned to this page, you're forgetting that what is going on around you is not reality.
Think about that...

What if reality as we see it is an illusion?

After all Albert Einstein says,

Albert Einstein "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."

See my book review about Einstein here.

Important books

The Bible, Yogananda, and Neville
The Bible was introduced to me at a young age and its teachings affect my life on many levels.

Paramahansa Yogananda, and others, including Neville Goddard say the Bible has meanings on many levels; history, the psychological meanings of the words, and the spiritual meanings.

I can suggest many books, including Dr. Joe Dispenza’s, "Becoming Supernatural". Over the last couple of years, with his help exploring Quantum Science my consciousness continues to expand.

Now for the answer to what is the most important book I have ever read that changes like me. Depending on where my head is at in the moment. All books have an effect on me and the ones that help me with changing my programming are the most important to me.

Akaska Record containing all books

Akasha, is a Sanskrit word, meaning out of which all things are formed, the first stage of crystalizing our spirit. Suppose ably all our thoughts and existence are recorded here. I believe it is possible we all know these on another level. Especially those with empathetic abilities, notice how you feel when first meeting someone. Some people can be read like a book.

Inspiration for this post

@ericvancewalton wrote about the most important book in his life. For me there are many including the one he reviews here.. So for now let’s say books that are influencing me.

Thanks for reading this post.
Live long and Steem on, we are all in this together.

Great book, was very inspirational for me when I read it while I was in my early teenage years!

I believe that Stephen King used the pen name "Richard Bachman" and that Richard Bach is himself.

Another great book to check out by Richard Bach is Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

Thanks for the post!

Now I am confused..lol. I googled and see where his name is Richard Bachman. Thanks for the added info.

@statinstance thanks for your resteem and support.

thank you for your support. :)

Also, nice that you mention Paramahansa Yogananda, I loved Autobiography Of A Yogi :)

Yes, I followed his teachings closely for 33 years. So you know I love the book. I met my husband at a book review for the Autobiography, at a university in Houston, many years ago.

Howdy rebeccabe! what a fine and fun post! Hey, I didn't know that Richard Bach is Stephen King’s alias! I remember reading Jonathn Livingston Seagull when I was real young though. I like the sounds of "Becoming Supernatural" I probably need that book!
