Asian Curries

There are so many expensive and delicious foods in this world. Yet Asians will not find foods for their taste outside this region. Special about Asian food is they are made with a lot of spices that can be find only at those counties. We do not add just pepper and salt. There are hundreds of spices with different different names.

When we made something special, we add more spices. They add color, taste and fragrance to the dishes. There are spices with large number of positive impacts. Many of them are good at controlling sugar and cholesterol levels in the body. So eating more will not badly impact with those spices.

Cookery is an art. Only few find the way. Some people’s biggest burden is cooking. Apparently, I should agree with the fact that Asians spend more time in cooking. Specially in preparing and cleaning. Personally, I sometimes see this as a waste of time as anyway we eat in less than 30 minutes.

But anyway, as I mentioned earlier, cooking is an art. Last weekend my mother wanted to make something special as we all were at the home on that day. So she wanted to make a special rice with something delicious.

We made a spicy rice, originally called as Thunapaha Bath in Sinhala or curry powder rice. Then we added traditional pineapple curry to it. As we cannot survive without dhal, we made a dhal curry also, nothing special. Then we made a deep fried - battered omelet. That was something new to us. Additionally we made a brinjal pickle or Wambatu moju to the dish.

It was perfect and nothing to be added. After all, me the one with different desires with foods, wanted to eat in a parcel of banana leaf. So my mom treated a banana leaf with fire and then made a parcel. I let it set for sometime and then had a perfect lunch.
