Entertainment Blog #116 | Rabbit Hole [2010] - After Loosing The Only Child..

You all know I love to watch movies. But these days, I was unable to watch a good movie because most movies released recently are not that good. So I decided to search for some movies from a few years back. It was easy because of imdb.com. I found a few movies and downloaded them using company Wi-Fi. Today, I'm gonna talk about one of that movies.

Rabbit Hole is a Drama movie from 2010. This movie wasn't theatrically successful but it was successful in VOD after a few years of release. Nicole Kidman, Aaron Eckhart, and Miles Teller play the main roles here.

Talking About The Movie...

The movie goes around Rebecca and Howard who are a married couple. They recently lost their child in a car accident. The child was chasing the dog and the dog went crossing the street. Unfortunately, a car also reached there from a side and you can imagine what may have taken place.

Even the time has gone by, and Rebecca was unable to get over the sadness. And she also doesn't wanna have another child. Also, she doesn't like to go to therapy sessions or group meetings. So, all these things add pressure on Howard slowly..

Rebecca has a sister, Izzy. She also had a brother who died of drug addiction. And Izzy is also pregnant now. All these things add pressure on Rebecca. So she is reluctant to become social and that blocks her willingness to talk to somebody.

The car which caused the accident was driven by a high school boy. one day when she was driving her car, she saw that boy, Jason getting off his school bus. Rebecca wanted to talk to him but she was scared of how he will respond to that. So another day, she chased him to the library and accidentally met him face-to-face there. Rebecca panicked and went outside.

Then on the next day, Rebecca went near his house thinking of talking to him but he didn't get off the bus. Seems like he hasn't taken the bus and walked home. Seems like Jason has already known what Rebecca was trying to do. And seems like Jason also was wanting the same.. to talk with Rebecca.

So what these small talks could lead to?? What is Howard doing in the interim?? It's up to you to find out.

My Experience..

I actually expected something MORE from the movie..given the possibilities for the characters. But those chances hadn't been used by the creators. I can't understand why. If those paths were chosen, the story would be spicier. Even though those routines weren't used by the creators, the story is beautiful in its own way.. And I liked it.

Ratings..

Ratings are fairly great in this movie. But it seems like the general audience has expected something more connectedness between Rebecca and Jason which is what could usually happen in most scenarios. But I can't blame that. The story is beautiful in its own way. So I can recommend it to you..
