Yesterday, Christmas Day at 5:30 early morning... before I prepared and ate my breakfast, and before I Opened The Presents Under My Christmas Tree,, I fired-up my smoker and placed a seasoned 18-pound brisket.

By 2 in the afternoon, it was done and ready to travel with me 150 miles to a friend's house where several families are gathering for our traditional Christmas Dinner.

For others who have not seen, smelled, or tasted my smoked brisket and eat with their eyes, the initial reaction to seeing the photo above may say: "Who would eat that blackened mess of meat?"

My friends love my cooking. And sometimes I think that they love me because of my cooking more than for me as a friend, 🤣LOL.

So as soon as I laid the meat in the board, they start picking on the brisket flat!

The maid hurriedly transferred the brisket onto a platter and set in on the table even before it could be sliced. The unsliced brisket looks like an overburned hard piece of roast and totally unappetizing, doesn't it?

On the contrary, this smoked brisket is so buttery-creamy, soft and delicious [that my friends would literally beg me to always make one for our get-togethers!]. It is a classic smoked brisket. The meat is tender and imbued with a smoky flavor and so delicious there’s no need for barbecue sauce.

My Smoked Brisket is always a popular dish on the table.

And within an hour, the Smoked Brisket was almost gone [and totally consumed right after this photo was taken!].

Families and friends get together to celebrate the holiday, exchange gifts, and of course, chow down. People celebrate by feasting! But what is actually served for Christmas dinner varies from one home to another.

I shall share more of what my extended family, friends & I had for this year's Christmas Dinner on another day.
