SEC-S7W6 – Life Stories

Greetings Steem Venezuelan friends.

I hope all of you are well, and have free time to read a life story that I have experienced some time ago and I will share that story in this community.

Everyone has their own life story and even that life story becomes an experience for them and maybe it can be an inspiration for others, I am very happy today to be able to participate in an interesting topic organized by the Venezuelan Steem community.

In real life I am an apathetic type of person, I don't really care about my surroundings, I just spend my time studying and working part time to make money to pay for college.

My friends think of me as a private person, they won't get any stories from me, I only talk if there's something really important, like class assignments given by the lecturer and information about class schedules.

At that time I didn't have time to have fun, because apart from going to college I also had to work part time to make money to pay for college.

One semester of lectures went by, nothing was memorable for me, until I met a friend who had just moved from out of town and chose our campus to continue his studies, his name was Krebo and he happened to choose a seat right next to me which at that time I just sat alone.

Long story short, we knew each other and he told me the reason why he moved from previously studying at one of the well-known universities in Indonesia and then chose to continue his studies in a small town.

His father was a well-known businessman and he was an only child, at the beginning of the semester when he was still studying at a famous university in Indonesia his parents suddenly went bankrupt and became seriously ill which eventually died two months after bankruptcy, 4 months later his mother too died so he lived alone and became alone.

All assets including the house which was his only place of residence were also confiscated by the Bank, leaving him devastated and helpless at that time. His uncle who happened to be one of the lecturers at the campus where I studied helped him to continue his studies and moved him from the previous university.

I couldn't say anything when I heard all the stories, from that moment on I became a person who is sensitive and cares about others. It turned out that the problems I faced were nothing compared to the life that my friend Krebo was experiencing at that time.

We lived in one room in the dormitory and I also asked him to work part time so that he also had extra money to support his life, even though he had never worked before but because we supported each other we got through everything easily. Until finally in 2012 we graduated together and until now we are still good friends and keep in contact with each other.

Lessons I can learn

The apathy or indifference that happened to me before was caused by a lack of emotion in responding to events around me, both positive and negative, which made me a closed person to whatever happened.

However, my meeting with Krebo opened my mind and views to see things from a different perspective, that every problem we experience must have a solution and it just depends on how we respond to the problem, and how far we will try to solve the problem so that we can well resolved soon.

I don't know if the story above is relevant to this topic, but from all the stories above I have learned a lot about life, especially I learned to be open and caring for each other and most importantly I learned to hold fast to God's decree, that every problem there must be a way out and God always provides the best way out for all of us.

What a sober reflection. An emotional story where he lost his parents. However, it is good it ended well and was able to graduate from college.
