Entre los años 1807 y 1813 cursó estudios de pintura en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Viena.

En el año 1811 se trasladó a Croacia para dar clase de arte a los hijos del conde Gyulay. En este trabajo duró 3 años. Luego decidió regresar a Viena y se desempeñó como profesor de pintura en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Viena, donde cuestionó el enfoque académico de este.

Escribió varios textos sobre aspectos teóricos relacionados con la pintura y el dibujo.

Se destacó por sus pintura de género y de paisajes realistas.

Murió el 23 de agosto de 1865, a los 72 años.

In recent days there have been many connection problems in the area where I live and that has stressed me a lot. But since the good things are long in coming, in this 18th edition of "Art and Writing" I bring you Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller:

Ferdinand was born on January 15, 1793 in Vienna (Austria). From a young age he showed a rebellious spirit, which led him to leave home at the age of 14. He supported himself economically by making portraits.

Between 1807 and 1813 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.

In 1811 he moved to Croatia to give art classes to the sons of Count Gyulay. In this job he lasted 3 years. He then decided to return to Vienna and became a professor of painting at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, where he questioned its academic approach.

He wrote several texts on theoretical aspects related to painting and drawing.

He was noted for his genre painting and realistic landscapes.

He died on August 23, 1865, at the age of 72.

Below we will present three of his works so that you can choose the one that most motivates you to write. The first is called: "Surprised Lovers" (1858), the second, "The Expected One" (1860) and the last, "Entrance of the Newlyweds" (1859)
