Ulog #15 - Rainbow After The Storm

Hey! #uloggers!! This was my #ulog Wednesday. Our electricity and wifi just came back today after more than 9 hours of waiting. YESSS!!! How's your day? When I woke up yesterday morning, Mamo and my husband were busy trimming the trees in the garden (djankie and cherry)these trees gave us so much fruit this summer. Mamo is ready to make djankies kompot in jars in the coming days. The cherry season is over, the watermelon and apricots are now on our grocery list every day:):)

I woke up like this lols:)

We spent the whole morning in the garden, chopping, cleaning, trimming the tree branches. My mom in law would use some of them to support the tomatoes. I helped them to clean up the mess. Now and then, we took a break in between and continued to work further. We had watermelon for a snack. It's refreshing, especially for the hot weather like this.

Lunch Time
We had a small task for Rimbie, he washed the dishes before lunch. After our work out in the garden, my husband cooked "Bob" bean salad. I made the"shopska" salad. Mamo and Rimbie picked the herbs and ingredients that we needed. Mamo worked in the garden, harvesting bob, checking her tomatoes, pulling weeds, making sure that her vegetables are in order.

Market
We didn't have a chance to do the grocery in the morning, everybody was tired after working in the garden. Mamo was the only one, who never got tired huh. We rested for a while, after that we headed to the market. Rimbie played with his friend. While we were on our way to the market, we heard loud thunders, saw lighting and the sky was getting dark. Mamo reminded us to bring an umbrella, too bad we didn't listen lols. We thought it was not going to rain because it was sunny when we left home.

Starbucks In The Market:
Bulgarians love to drink coffee, shops are everywhere. I saw this cute coffee shop, grandma was selling freshly roasted coffees. Just to give you an idea how much a cup of coffee cost here, one cup is 80 stotinki (40 cents). I love my own Starbucks here, it's cozy and it tastes good. Then the hailstorm poured unexpectedly!!!

Summer Hailstorm
We couldn't go home right away. It was still raining, we decided to take a taxi otherwise we would be stuck the whole night there. We were home safe and wet from the rain. Mamo was worried about her garden. Almost every summer, we experience hailstorm. Some years ago it was one of the worst, a lot of properties, cars, houses, farms, were destroyed because of the hail. I remember my sister in law's old car was damaged and bringing it to a car shop would cost her a lot of bucks. SEE MY BLOG HERE

Garden

Our electricity went off and our internet was disconnected. Mamo was sad because of the hail, we told Mamo, that we couldn't do much about her vegetables. Her garden wasn't damaged, when we checked it this morning. Maybe some of you don't know that my mom in law, preserves all the leftover summer vegetables and fruits and keep it for the winter time. It's been passed from generation to generation. I find it unique. Growing up in a tropical weather, preserving food is not that common.

Dinner Time
It was just a simple macaroni and beetroot. I cut all the ingredients, my husband, did all the cooking. Everyone enjoyed it.

Rainbow After The Rain
It was raining for almost 4 hours. Some areas in our town were flooded. Then suddenly, my husband called me when he saw a nice a rainbow outside. It gives us hope, that everything will be alright. Just like the famous quote says " There's always a rainbow after the rain"
