The great destruction of the Amazonian forests - fake fact? necessary to destroy for growth? worth it?

in #ecology6 years ago

This is an interesting question that like all major environmental issues is totally absent from discussion.

Personally, I am against so called Brazil conversion of it into fiats.

On this planet there are few native forests left.

most have been fragmented in smaller and smaller units, more and more separated by conversion area (any extractive activities replacing the native forest ).

it starts with a hut and end up with a space port.

And the logic argument is that in the known universe there is only one forest like this, and those other elsewhere on earth. But building a "human hive" and it's support system is always almost the same, farms, roads, the cultural land mark to extract public tax money, etc etc.

as some say it's only the weather that change.

but how to stop that evolution in these last vestiges of the natural evolutive earth life areas?

The thing is going for the kill on all those markets, not by eliminating them but on switching all those extracts to American made ones here :

Again the same mindset, of extraction until exhaustion, it seems way more feasible to move water to the arid center, rather than like done now extract the few natural source left.

make lvs a swamp !

of course it means total artificialization of the arid central conus, but with a passive system and that at least it is a second giant infrastructure project on the american ground (with build the wall) and in all event be necessary sooner or later.

Is it right or wrong? this is really an interesting question, but before answering it, it is may be important to ask, wiping all those maybe unique in the galaxy ecosystem to replace them with human hives is a better alternative?

what do you prefer 4,5,10 billions brazilians and multiple more worldwide and not a single forest native patch not encircled by "civilization" all watching the same tv soap?

the farmers bet that more people will mean more income, can once too many people get hungry and angry, become a costly proposition.

and of course this all narrative of poor farmers, poor people seeking expansion, is just a lie hidding the yuge profits that some manage to extract from those conversive activities.

  1. the rogue, small, poor settler, take a piece of land, farm, fish, extract wood and hunt or mine
  2. get a legal propriety right on what was illegal, the area is a small neighborhood, more settlers have come.
  3. now they are owners, concentration happen, fiat is injected, titles change hands, large stakers emerges (foreign, national and corrupts).
  4. it was only on strategically high potential conversion to fiat that the largest splashes.
5 make profits on those who don't care.
  5. there is no more natural on earth.

again the problem isn't the plastic straw, but those who throw away in the wild their plastic straw. and while they spin that, entire forest are fragmented and erased each and every single day, for what?

to please hypergamist whore and their sexual pets well beings?

anyway... just saying :

there may be rain too in the dark clouds of the dark side :).
