Get Liquid Payouts On Your PostssteemCreated with Sketch.

in #busy7 years ago

It is nice to see different services emerge that provide Steemians with options. This is a part of the growth process of the ecosystem. It is why we all must be patient with the development of things. Some of this cannot be rushed.

The other day I mentioned the @tipu project and how one was offered the way to "delegate" SP without really doing it. By using the TPU token, one could enjoy the same benefits of delegation while having the ability to turn it into liquid STEEM immediately through the Steem-Engine exchange.

This only applied to payouts that applied to that platform.

We now have a service that allows for the ability to get paid in liquid STEEM.

Payouts for posts are done in either SP or a combination of SP/SBD. The SBD is obviously available to anyone upon payout. It is a liquid token. SP, of course, is not liquid and required a 13 week power down period.

We all know that a lot can happen in 13 weeks. This is especially true if one is in need of the money. Many in the poorer nations use their STEEM to buy some of the necessities. We saw much more of this when the bull market was in swing and STEEM netted out a lot more fiat.

People in this situation opt for the 50/50 payout. Nevertheless, this still put a fair portion of the proceeds under the 13 requirement.

In addition to not having access to the funds, the move in the market is a challenge. As I said, 13 weeks is a long time, thus providing the possibility of large moves in the market. This is wonderful is the price is appreciating. However, as we saw a year ago, when it is going the other direction, it is painful for those who are needing their payouts.

There is now a service that provides another option.

@likwid removes this concern entirely. It is a service that will swap the non-liquid SP payout for STEEM immediately upon payout. To do this, it uses the Beneficiary function. Steempeak is a good application to use for this (along with some other reasons).

By selecting this function and listing @likwid as the beneficiary, the system knows to swap the SP for liquid STEEM upon payment.

As mentioned, this provides one with full liquid funds within 7 days of making the post as opposed to waiting the 13 weeks (plus the one for payout).

In my mind, this could be very helpful to those in those areas where living off STEEM is necessary. The 3 month powering down period makes it very difficult.

Another interesting point is that unlike the banker world, people in these countries are not being raked over the coals on the exchange. It is not uncommon for situations like money transfers in poorer nations to exceed 10%. Currency swaps, including the fiat world, can get very excessive in their currencies.

The service fee is 1.5% of the STEEM. As a comparison, that is less than Visa charges many merchants to accept your credit or debit card.

While I am one who is in the "power up all I can" category, there are many who are not so fortunate. One of the being benefits to Steem is people can earn money from their activity on here. For those in need, especially those countries without many options, this is a fantastic opportunity. That said, there is no doubt the powering down period is a drawback.

This also could be helpful for those who like to alter their accounts based upon their views of the market. If one does happen to be bearish, while also being a content creator, getting paid out in STEEM might be more attractive. It provides another possibility to one who is not comfortable holding during a 3 month market pullback.

@likwid is another example of the options that are appearing on this ecosystem. It is vital for different services to appear that fill holes in the market. While this might not be for everyone, for those who know they need their STEEM in the next 1-2 months, it is a viable option.

I quite like this idea as it gives everyone more choices. Charging only 1.5 % for this service is smart as I can see it becoming fairly popular. If you need some funds fairly quickly this is the way to do it and not touch your account by powering down.

Them assuming risk for 3 months(!) of crypto price fluctuation and only taking 1.5% is risky. Hopefully it's sustainable.

Thanks for sharing such a nice platform @likwid which will help to get liquid steem instantly by a week with 1.5% only processing fees.

And well said, Vision 2025.
Again Steem is much much bigger than steemit.
Nice
