Silky and wildflowers

For this evenings acifit post I share some photos taken with my iPhone as usual on my morning walk, but I am starting with a Photo I took today, I will explain about it at the end of the post.

Todays steps were done over two walks, one in the morning when I went to Walnut Beach again it was kind of damp and grey but warm, only about 70F nut the humidity was 95% which made it kind of sticky but was still such a pleasant start tot eh day, I was a little late getting moving so I missed the sunrise but with the overcast skies I may not have missed much and walking along the beach was a great way to start the day.
I wanted to get something other than beach shots and noticed a few plants along the beach, I am not 100% sure but I suspect this is a type of thistle.

And next up just a simple leaf with water drops on it from the rain earlier in the morning

Another plant I have no idea what it is but I thought it looked interesting

And this is a similar plant further along the beach with the same sort of buds or berries on it but the flowers on this one were a different color more reds to them

And another interesting plant, this one was very tall this is just the top of it and about at my head height.

Now this next shot is to explain the first photo in the post which was taken with my Sony camera shown in the next shot.
Now its kind of funny that @johannpiber and I both happened to order a M10 Filter system from Haida on the same day earlier in the week, we had been discussing them on and off for a while and mine arrived yesterday, and I had to try it out today so later in the morning when the sun came out a little I went for a walk around the duck pond and took the kit to try out for some shots of the waterfall there.

The filter system has slots for a circular filter and two slots for glass filters and you can see it at the front of the lens in this next photo, the kit I got has a circular Polarizing fitter, and a Graduated 3 Stop ND filter and a 10 Stop ND filter.
For the shots I took of the waterfall including the first photo in this post I was using the 10 Stop filter only, and I was happy with some of the shots I got and had to share one with this post.

Nice work with the waterfall! I hadn't heard of that filter system, but I've seen similar ones before. It looks like it works pretty well. It looks as if you can't use a lens hood with it but, for most shooting, that's not a big deal.

I have wanted a good ND filter for a long time now, but budgets and employment have put most purchases on hold.

Thanks I got a few shots I am pretty happy with, I only heard of them a few months ago, they had great reviews and are I believe of the quality of Lee or other big name filter makers, I do like the design of this one with the option of a circular filter and the regular square ones

Oooohhh that first shot is so super smooth......... You must be pretty happy with the filters that you got! :) You have lovely rich vegetation by the beach... I doubt we have such a lot (especially flowering ones too) at ours. Lovely walk! :)

Ohh yeah I was wondering did I get a bit carried away buying it I had a cheap set of filters for my Old Pentax gear but was never happy with them they gave a color tint and weren't so clear, but from the first try of these I am very happy for sure

I am lucky here a lot of the beaches have some nice vegetation nearby

Exactly what I thought when I first bought my Sony mirrorless camera! :D
Now I am very happy I got it...

So, looks like we'll be looking forward to more of these cool shots from you... :)
Happy weekend, and happy experimenting!

Ohh yeah I love the Sony Mirrorless am super happy with it, and this filter kit is a nice addition I will have fun using it for long exposure shots :)

Wow! That's a serious looking piece of equipment there, and the results speak for themselves.

From the angle of the camera it looks bigger than it is, it is fairly sizable in width and height but quite thin and doesn't add much weight, was fun trying it out

Impressive photo!

Greetings my friend.

Thanks Kindly i was very happy with how the filters work

Absolutely fabulous waterfall shot, Jay! It's fun playing with filters, though I have to admit mine are all in a box, as I do all the filtering in Photoshop now. LOL!

Thanks, and yes I do most of my filtering in photoshop, but I got these for long exposures, which I could work around and do in photoshop I kind of like doing it on camera ;)

That makes sense when you are shooting a waterfall on a bright day. DUH! I rarely run into that problem with Scottish waterfalls, but get mad at myself when I do, and have not packed filters. LOL!

Luckily this set is actually quite light so if i am ever heading to where a waterfall may be I will take it with me for sure ;)

I did have my filters with me on the trip, but had to much rain I didn't need them. we didn't do a waterfall tour, but then I didn't have a tripod with me. I brought it to Iceland last year, but I'm through lugging everything with me when I travel now. I travel light!

Back when I used to travel I always travelled light nowadays all my travelling is by road so I can take more :)

That makes sense! It's easy to shove everything in the car in case you may need it.
