That's it people, lets see what you've got!

For this weeks entry I am pleased to say I did not have to go looking through my Archives, but actually, have some new shots taken on a morning walk through the Pond Area of Central Park.
Most times when I try to get bird shots the birds fly away when I get close to within range of getting a shot of them, so I was happy when these birds stayed close enough for me to get shots of them.

There are two types of birds that are my favorites, one being the Cardinal, so I was happy when the two in the shot below flew down on the walkway and I was able to get this shot at the max zoom of 240 on the lens I had with me, (actually it is the longest lens I have), not the best of shots I know but I was happy to get it

Now my Favorite bird is the Blue Jay and I do not think I have ever got a shot of one till this walk through the park, I guess with all the people walking through the park, they are quite used to humans in this area.

And not only did I see and get shots of one Bluejay as you will see below I got two of them, and one other bird which I am not so sure whay type it is

Nice shots! I went over to my parents this weekend and they have a bird feeder outside their sliding glass door. The birds were going crazy getting ready for the snow that was on the way. I saw cardinals, gold finch, robins, mourning doves, wood peckers, and a bluebird. It was pretty impressive!

WOW that does sound pretty impressive with such a variety of birds, lets hope that now is the last you see for this season

The third bird looks to be a starling. Was its coat iridescent? If so they have quite a remarkable singing voice. There is a population of them that nest near the Vancouver art gallery and they have come to mimic the classical music they play there.

I have never seen a cardinal in real life. I do not think they make it past the Prairies but I have seen a bluejay. In Alberta. They do not make it past the Rockies. Here we have the Stellar Jays.

I cant say for sure if it was iridescent, to be honest was focusing on the Blue Jays but I did hear one bird that sounded quite lovely so maybe thats what it was, how cool that they mimic classical music thats amazing

It is not a spot rendition but it is pretty:)

I will be watching out for this type of bird when out walking :)

They are quite common. The level of their iridescence can vary some though.

I see I really know very little about birds I will be watching out for them ;)

It would be hard to pick a favorite.

Thanks so nice of you to say, Have a good weekend

I love cardinals as well @tattoodjay we usually have a pair nesting each Summer that amuse us. Seeing their bright red bodies in the grey and brown leafless branches on a cold day always lifts the spirit.

I feel the same looking out or walking along and seeing the flash or red of the cardinal out of the corner of my eye just makes me smile, I know that may sound weird, but they do make me smile, they are bright and beautiful

amazing cardinal!!! the colours are sweet sweet red! Nice capture.

Thanks I will hopefully see them again sometime and get better shots :)

Two lovely little birds we never see, nice to see birds from your side of the world @tattoodjay

That is the cool thing about steemit seeing sights and in this case birds from all around the world :)

Totally agree with you, we often learn a lot more about particular birds, places and interesting facts.

Yes Indeed I find I often find at least one post often more each day that teaches me something new :)
