Its all about the Nutcrackers

Continuing on (and some may say on and on and on) with posts about the festive decorations in NYC, this post as the title says is all about the Nutcrackers,

Starting with some shots of the huge ones in front of the UBS Building on 6th Ave near 51st Street

this first shot gives a good idea of how huge they are, it was convenient that guy stopped to check his phone as I was about to take the photo, I generally try and get shots without people most of the time ( something I am trying to get out of doing all the time) but this is one case where I feel him being in shot did give a sense of scale

Infact all of these shots have people in view now that I look at them again, that is unusual for me, maybe I am slowly breaking mysel fof the habit of waiting till no one in shot, or more likely this was at lunchtime I do believe and there was no way to get a shot of them without people.

Another of the Nutcrackers, they alternate between the two color schemes along the line

And looking down the line of them again, the guy in the first shot stopped looking ta his phone and started walking but didnt get to far before he stopped to chekc it again

And now a couple of other Nutcrackers these ones with trumpets, in front of a high rise building in the city on 5th Ave, I wont say the name of the building to avoid getting into politics in the comments, but you can work it out if you take a look is all I will say
