Vertigo warming - Looking up and down

This post is for the looking up challenge that has been started by @melinda010100 and @pixelfan but with a twist as I will be looking up and looking down,

For those who suffer from vertigo you may not want to scroll down as it included a shot looking straight up

This first shot is on 42nd Street just down from Grand Central terminal

@boddhisattva has recently shared some very cool shots with puddle reflections recently and when I saw this big puddle on the street the other day I decided to try and get one, I did mess up the focus with it being on the road and not on the reflected buildings, but I still like the shot and went with a bit of an artsy creative edit with it

And incase your wonderign what it looked like without the artsy edit, here it is

Finally searched the tag this morning and was so glad that I did because I would have been very unhappy if I would have missed these excellent photos! I'm resteeming!

Thanks so Much, I use Gina to keep up with my tags then I always know when they come up :)

I have never been able to get Gina to work for me.

Sorry to hear that I would be lost without her especially on Wednesdays I cant even remember how I set her up to be honest, I think when it started there was a room on discord that gives a link to how to set it tup

I just went to Minnow-power on Discord to try again. Still can't register. This time I asked for help and will try to figure out what I am doing wrong.

OK i hope they can sort it out for you it is so handy to have all the notifications that come up on it

I've heard other people say that as well and I keep intending to get it sorted out and hopefully I can this time. Still no response on Discord.

Can I ask if you know how to find the numbers that we need for taxes? I'm sure there must be a way, but I'm in the dark as where to find them!

I am sure they will get back to you at some stage and I hope you can get it working, Sorry No I dont know about the Tax info

Hey, good try! )))
If you look closely, the fact that the puddle did not get into focus gives you the feeling that the reflection is painted with colors)))

If you don't mind, I will give you advice that another guy gave me, who is professional in shooting reflections. Try lowering the camera as low as possible above the water. So it will be more difficult to control the geometry of the frame, but it is easy to fix when processing photos. But the result should make you happy!

Thanks for the advise that is great and I will try that
Since the reflections were crisp I went fir an artsy edit on them

Thanks again

Really do love the reflection. The puddle also seems to resemble a trident.

I had not seen that resemblance to a trident but now I see it thanks for that observation and visit

Impressive effect photos and a excellent photographer. I like it, thanks for sharing!

And thanks for your visit and support

That is some shot of the buildings on 42 street. I lived in NJ for over 60 years and enjoyed going to the city for many events concerts, games at Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium, etc. Now I live in the middle of the woods and can honestly say I don't miss the hustle and bustle of that area.

I was kind of the opposite grew up in a small village out of the nearest small city and then ended up traveling a lot through my work ending up in NYC but let’s be out in CT so I can get away from the hustle and bustle after work
But only a few more months then I will retire and seldom if ever head into the city

Retirement around the corner, good for you. Funny thing about retirement, many people have asked me what the heck I was going to do with all of that free time. My answer was always the same. I am going to do what ever the hell I please. I think the key to retirement is having a lot of hobbies, and maybe try some things that one has never done.

I have been thinking about this for a few years, thats why I have got more into photography which is a hobby I plan to spend more time on when I retire, also I am seriously thinking about setting up a little photo studio and a Salt water fish tank, and I am sure I will find lots of things to keep me busy when the time comes :)
I am not one for sitting twiddling my thumbs so I know I will keep myself occupied but instead of with work things it will be for fun

I love the "looking down" photos... Initially I thought it would be photos looking down from high up... But you made this very interesting... The reflection from the water puddle... Cool!

Thanks It’s not really fitting the looking up challenge the second shot but I do like to be different LOL
